They're already insulting any hard working college grad who got relief by insinuating they're deadbeats but now they're insulting their degrees with childish taunts. I don't see how that wins them any voters.
May the bridges I burn light my way.

I will note that my brother likewise took the reverse path from math/science into a less STEM-y field -- Mathematics undergrad degree, and a brief foray into teaching that didn't last long while then a Library Science Master's degree. He's now a library branch manager and parents go out of their way to consult with him on supplemental educational reading materials as well as fun stuff. Because he's perceived as someone who has experienced all sides of the holistic education accordingly.Gregg wrote: ↑Mon Aug 29, 2022 10:42 am Applied Mathematics, I took the degree that made you use Algebra!

Mind you, my brother is so grumpy that our much missed Sterngard would say of him "God *damn*, but that boy is grumpy." But he puts on his customer service face and he dives in because he realizes that not everyone can do what he does and his community needs him to do it.

There were 13 years between my BS and going to London to learn economics from communists. I spent a bit flying eggbeaters and killing commies for Ronnie Reagan before I had my accident and had to find an honest living, so obviously my solution was not only go back to school, but go overseas to go back to school, cause if you can't major in Lesbian Dance Theory you might as well see Europe!

Lauren quotes Elon Musk, but leaves out important context.

From the above quote.
Not.The full quote shows that Musk is talking about fossil fuels being needed right now to keep civilization functioning until we can reach sustainability with renewable energy:
I want to thank the leaders and the people of Norway for their long-standing support. I do think we actually need more oil and gas for civilization to function. But simultaneously moving fast to a sustainable energy economy.

I know that applied mathematics is not an item that one would normally discuss in the 'lil Lauren thread, so sorry for the hijack.
My degrees are in geological engineering and hydrogeology. For the most part I really enjoyed mathematics, esp. applied mathematics. When I was in grad school I decided to put a polish on my math skills with one last mathematics course. Hydrogeologists apply partial differential equations to model how groundwater moves and the fate of contaminants in groundwater.
The last math course I took was mathematical physics. It condensed the topics of complex variables, partial differential equations and special functions into one course. That course was the hardest course I ever took. My professor, Bill Law was "into" plasma physics. I was very grateful to have Dr. Law as my teacher. The text was by Butkov and there were so many typos in his treatise that I would never have grasped the concepts without the benefit of my teacher's copious corrections to that text.
If I were a lot younger, I might have gone a different path as I find the field of solar dynamics to be fascinating.
Are you familiar with this text, Slarti?

Off Topic
Not that particular text, but the last physics class I took (as a physics major anyways) was "Newtonian Mechanics" which probably covered the same subject material (all about the calculus of variations ending in Hamiltonians and Lagrange multipliers).Mr. Gneiss wrote: ↑Tue Aug 30, 2022 7:35 pm I know that applied mathematics is not an item that one would normally discuss in the 'lil Lauren thread, so sorry for the hijack.

It's Stupid Bobo saying Stupid things again. Surprise!
She is perpetuating the RW misquote / quoting out of context of Hunter Biden talking about the depths of his addiction. He once mistook dried grains of parmesan cheese in the carpet as crack cocaine and attempted to smoke them. But, he never went to the cupboard to toke a fresh bowl.
It's okay if she gets to revel in someone elses agony as long as it's Hunter. Gotta keep that message out there.

Trump claims the FBI searched 16-year-old Barron's room in Mar-a-Lago. Former prosecutor says that's unlikely, unless he stored government docs.
