I turned on the TV this morning and Star Trek The Next Generation was playing the episode Chain of Command part 2. This is the episode where David Warner as a Cardassian Gul tortures Captain Picard. In short, the episode is all about amazing performances from these two. The remaining parts were added just to give the rest of the cast something to do.

No one famous, but my brother-in-law Norman. He was feeling kind of shitty a couple of months ago but no specific symptoms - just weak and short of breath. He had cancer. They think it started in his lungs, and by the time it was diagnosed it had spread. He was stage 4 when they found it.

Tony Dow, Who Played Wally Cleaver on ‘Leave It to Beaver,’ Dies at 77
Oh, noooo! Bad enough that Barbara Billigsley died, because she was the archetype of the eternal mom. But when the kids on that show that I grew up with start to go, it makes me feel way more mortal...
I met him when he was doing the dinner theater circuit back in the late 80s. Most "big names" didn't mingle with us little folk, but of the few that did come up to say hi, he was one of the nicest.
(Barbara Billingsly also came up to say hi, different show. Just as beautiful then as she was on the tv show, and she was delightful.)
The wife of Tony Dow, the actor and director best known for his role as older brother Wally Cleaver on "Leave It to Beaver" who was reported dead on Tuesday, said her husband is still alive.
Earlier, Dow's representatives issued a statement announcing the passing of the beloved actor.
Lauren Dow confirmed to Eyewitness News that her husband is still alive and breathing, but is in hospice care in their home.
She said based on some health issues that occurred overnight, Lauren inferred that her husband had passed away, and she alerted people close to her.
Lauren said she's been distraught and grief-stricken about her husband's health battle the past couple of months.

ARCHIE ROACH 1956-2022
The day that came to define Archie Roach occurred when he was only a few years old. This was around 1960, when government agencies forcibly took him and his siblings away from their parents.
In his autobiography, Tell Me Why, Roach recounts a memory that came back to him many years later of his screaming father being restrained by a policeman while the children were loaded into a large black car. That was the last time he saw his parents.
Be assured that a walk through the ocean of most souls Would scarcely get your feet wet
Not only did she pave the way for Black actors and actresses in the early days post-Civil Rights Act, but after the series ended, she volunteered with NASA for nearly 40 years to generate interest in science and to encourage minorities to pursue careers in science and space exploration. That's really cool! Here she is only a few years ago.
I shall have more to say about the trailblazing, incomparable Nichelle Nichols, who shared the bridge with us as Lt. Uhura of the USS Enterprise, and who passed today at age 89. For today, my heart is heavy, my eyes shining like the stars you now rest among, my dearest friend.
