What do you say to her?

Next thing you know they'll be saying that the constitutional amendment giving women the right to vote is unconstitutional!

I'd say that one person will say anything to get into the Newspapers and get people clicking on her.

And, just one person saying something is not a "They" coming for anything. Call me when a number of people greater than zero say they agree with her.

And before anyone says anything about me saying that as a foul Catholic, I've actually read Humanae Vitae, and Birth control is alcoved in cases of Medical need. Yes, I know that "reading it" is more than some Catholics have done, but hey...

Lawful Therapeutic Means

15. On the other hand, the Church does not consider at all illicit the use of those therapeutic means necessary to cure bodily diseases, even if a foreseeable impediment to procreation should result there from—provided such impediment is not directly intended for any motive whatsoever. (19)

In addition, I have said on the forum before that I don't actually agree with the Church blanket ban on Birth control and think its incomparable with the Church teaching for responsible family sizes.

So, I guess that showed you, huh?

This is hardly the first time I've heard this, nor is it the only person who has espoused it. I'm not going to go hunting for other examples at this time, but I suspect plenty will organically appear in the coming months.

ETA: except this that I just randomly ran across

But some guy in some other country with some other opinion who has read some stuff disagrees with you, so you're obviously wrong and Blackburn is the only one who has ever said it.

Yeah, tell me again how it’s God‘s will that women conceive year after Year, free from medical or pharmaceutical interference but as soon as ED enters the picture, Viagra is a must-have and God‘s will is immediately forgotten.

(And I’m not knocking Viagra. Just noting the hypocrisy.)

In 1864, when Arizona wrote that bill, 325 children out of 1000 did not live to age 5. That's how God handled birth control.

Trump says he will ‘never advocate’ for contraception restrictions after earlier saying he’s ‘looking at’ them

https://www.politico.com/news/2024/05/2 ... n-00159118
Donald Trump insisted in a social media post Tuesday that he has “never, and will never advocate imposing restrictions on birth control or other contraceptives,” after an interview released hours earlier included Trump saying he’s “looking at” restrictions on contraception.

The post came after Trump said in an interview with a local TV station in Pittsburgh that he plans to share a policy on contraception “very shortly,” without providing details.

“We’re looking at that, and I’m going to have a policy on that very shortly and I think it’s something that you’ll find interesting,” Trump told KDKA political analyst Jon Delano when asked if he supported any restrictions on a person’s right to contraception.

KDKA declined to tell POLITICO when the interview was recorded, but the Biden campaign released video of the exchange on Tuesday.

Trump added in the interview, “you will find it very smart. I think it’s a smart decision.”

In his social media post later Tuesday afternoon, Trump denied ever suggesting that he would impose restrictions on birth control.

The "We are looking at that" is his escape clause when he does not want to commit to anything in an interview. Here of course he steps right into the puddle :violin:

One of the things I have always found amazing about his political 'appeal' is that the man famously can't commit to ideas, and yet is believed to be so decisive. He simply waffles and pushes back and uses weasel words and yet, "Wow, such a take-charge leader."

They do care. They want to model something like the Lebensborn program of the 1940s.

So, Louisiana christofascists know better than medical professionals?

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/lo ... rcna153052

The measure, which has drawn support from anti-abortion groups and alarm from medical professionals and reproductive rights advocates, would add the medications mifepristone and misoprostol to Schedule IV of the state’s Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substances Law. Abortion — both medical and surgical — is illegal in Louisiana, so it is already illegal to prescribe the medications to terminate pregnancies, except in very limited circumstances.
