Mike Lindell, the CEO of MyPillow, has launched his social-media site Frank as a static webpage.
The site's description says it is "the voice of free speech."
Lindell said Tuesday he'd spent millions on Frank, which he said would fully launch within 14 days.
MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, the Trump ally who pushed voter-fraud conspiracy theories, has just offered a first glimpse at his new social-media site.
The site, currently a static webpage, is called Frank, and uses the URL frankspeech.com. Lindell previously told Insider's Natasha Dailey in early March that the site would be called Vocl. Frank is set to launch fully in 10 to 14 days, Lindell told "The Eric Metaxas Radio Show" on Tuesday. Lindell has been secretly creating his own social-media platform over the past four years, he said earlier this month. The site's tagline calls it "the voice of free speech." Lindell previously told Dailey that the site would be "all about being able to be vocal again and not to be walking on eggshells."
He told Dailey that he planned to be the site's CEO and told Metaxas that he had invested millions of dollars into it. The webpage describes why Lindell decided to launch the website as well as what it would be used for. It says that Frank "will be the platform for Americans who want to defend life, liberty, and all the freedoms that have marked America as the longest running Constitutional Republic in the history of the world." Users will be able to "post videos, livestream television, distribute news and information, and find community and fellowship with likeminded Americans," per the site's description. Lindell previously told Dailey that the site would be a cross between Twitter and YouTube meant "for print, radio, and TV." "There's nothing like it out there," he told Metaxas on Tuesday. "Your YouTube channel is your Twitter. It's amazing."
He also said that the site is "reverse-engineered," and that when influencers join, "they will now have a platform where all the people down here follow them instantly." "They don't have to earn their followers," he added. The description says the site was launched in retaliation against "cancel culture" and "political correctness." "The world watched as perhaps the most visible and vocal CEO in America, Mike Lindell, became the victim of the 'cancel culture' when he began to express his views on matters that the liberal media and big tech deemed to be politically incorrect," the site reads. Lindell has been blocked from Twitter, sued by voting machine company Dominion, and had his products pulled by retailers, all in the space of a few months, after he pushed the conspiracy theory that voting machines switched votes from former President Donald Trump to President Joe Biden during the 2020 election. Lindell told "The Domenick Nati Show" last week that he planned to cancel "cancel culture," and that he had "big teams" of investigators looking into who was behind it.
In previous interviews, Lindell has suggested that the site's content moderation would be lax. He told Metaxas that he would use the site to share evidence of his voter-fraud theory, which has been thoroughly debunked. He added that he was making another video after the release of his two-hour voter-fraud film "Absolute Proof." Lindell has constantly criticized other social-media sites, notably Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube, which have flagged or removed content in which he promoted voter-fraud conspiracy theories. Lindell told Metaxas that Frank would be "the most secure platform ever" and that he uses all his own servers so that "they will not be able to break into it."
This should be interesting when the racists and white supremacists start going nuts. Wonder who bound their E&O and D&O insurance coverage.

‘YOU’RE ALREADY SUED!’
MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell blasted Fox News for not giving him a platform to peddle his baseless voter fraud claims, wondering aloud if Fox was “in” on a conspiracy against him.
Justin Baragona Contributing Editor Updated Mar. 23, 2021 6:36PM ET / Published Mar. 23, 2021 3:17PM ET
Trump-boosting pillow salesman Mike Lindell took a swing at Fox News this week, complaining that the conservative network—which essentially plays his MyPillow commercials on a loop—isn’t giving him a platform to peddle his baseless voting machine conspiracies. Fox might be “in” on a conspiracy against MAGA heads, Lindell ultimately suggested. The pillow mogul, who has become the face of a dead-end MAGA coalition still trying to overturn President Joe Biden’s election victory, appeared on far-right pundit Eric Metaxas’ radio show on Monday to discuss his continued efforts to prove the lie that the 2020 election was “stolen” from Donald Trump. Lindell also discussed his fraught attempts to create a new social media site (he was booted from Twitter and other platforms earlier this year for repeatedly pushing voting disinformation).
After boasting that his new platform would automatically give so-called influencers “millions” of followers when they join—especially if they’ve been kicked off YouTube for making false claims—Lindell then grumbled about Fox News supposedly kowtowing to voting-software firms Dominion and Smartmatic in the wake of billion-dollar legal complaints. “Lawsuits can be used as a way to silence people,” Metaxas noted in a moment first flagged by Salon staff writer Zachary Petrizzo. “They can be legitimate. But they can also be used as a way to silence people. And I’ve noticed that Fox and other people, rather than face the thing, they just say, We’re not gonna talk about that, we don’t want to get sued. That’s what’s happening in America.”
Last month, Smartmatic filed a $2.7-billion libel lawsuit against Fox News, three hosts (including recently canceled Lou Dobbs), and former Trump lawyers Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell, saying they all spread false information that the company rigged the 2020 election. Dominion, another voting machine company at the center of debunked election conspiracies, has sued Lindell himself for $1.3 billion. “I want to say one thing here—here’s things that don’t make sense,” an animated Lindell replied. “Let’s just talk about Fox! You’re already sued! It’s too late to close the gate, the cows are already out of the barn!” The MAGA maven continued, “Why can’t people go on there and say their free speech then?! You’re already sued, Fox. What do you have—are you going to get double sued? What’s the matter with you?” Growing increasingly agitated, Lindell expressed anger and frustration with the network before finally asking, “What are they, in on it? I don’t get it. Is it a fake lawsuit?”
Notably, Lindell’s pillow commercials are by far the biggest advertiser on Tucker Carlson Tonight, Fox’s most-watched show. As host Tucker Carlson has courted controversy over the past couple of years, the vast majority of the network’s blue-chip advertisers have ditched the primetime show, leaving mostly MyPillow ads, Fox News promos, and direct marketers. While it remains to be seen if Fox News reacts in any way to one of its largest sponsors directly calling the network out, Lindell has been able to force one right-wing outlet to come groveling back for not letting him spout crazed conspiracies on-air. After Newsmax anchor Bob Sellers repeatedly interrupted Lindell during an interview before literally walking off the set when the MyPillow founder wouldn’t stop talking about voting machines, Sellers begged “friend of the network” Lindell for forgiveness while assuring viewers that the pillow tycoon would “continue to be an important guest on Newsmax.”

Yeah, and if it really opens to public comment I plan to do some commenting when I find the time. I think people there should realize that falsehoods unchallenged only fester and grow.

I predict:
"servers" powered by Intel 8088/s;
an immediate crash because of yuuuuuge demand (at least 100), but really because of leftist liberal commie socialist antifa BLM hacking paid for by Soros;
immediate censorship of dissenting opinions;
lots of "My Pillow" advertising;
FAILURE.

If Trump had succeeded in getting rid of section 230, MyPillowTalk would be whacked with a pile of lawsuits in 8 weeks. I would have said 1 day but with all of the outages after go-live, it would take 8 weeks to get to a critical mass of 5 posts.

Don't they realize that, if that happened, all social media would become a lot more restrictive of the speech that they allow? Without section 230 social media platforms would be much easier to sue for false, defamatory, or hateful speech. It would be much more productive for a "victim" to sue FaceBook or Twitter, than to sue the individual who posted the offending message.
The platforms would be much more protective of their legal liability.
It seems to me to be a case of "be careful what you wish for".

https://thehill.com/regulation/court-ba ... inion-caseDershowitz advising MyPillow CEO's lawyers in Dominion case
BY CELINE CASTRONUOVO - 03/16/21 08:11 PM EDT
Attorney Alan Dershowitz says he is advising lawyers representing MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell in the $1.3 billion defamation lawsuit brought by Dominion Voting Systems in connection to the businessman’s conspiracy theories involving the 2020 election. Dershowitz, a former Harvard law professor who defended former President Trump in his first impeachment trial, confirmed to The Hill on Tuesday that he is “consulting with his [Lindell’s] lawyers” but added that he has a “limited role.”
“I think it is a very important First Amendment case,” Dershowitz, who is also an opinion contributor for The Hill, explained. Dershowitz added that he is more concerned with Dominion limiting the “free marketplace of ideas” with its defamation suit and is not necessarily supportive of the content of Lindell’s arguments. Dominion in its lawsuit filed last month argued that Lindell disparaged the company’s brand by advancing unsubstantiated claims that its voting machines were rigged and used in efforts to steal the 2020 election from Trump. Dershowitz said Tuesday that he is not directly advising Lindell, but is instead offering guidance to the business executive's lawyers, noting he has done the same for other attorneys in free speech cases in years prior, including those surrounding the Pentagon Papers and WikiLeaks.
However, CNB, which first reported Dershowitz’s involvement in Lindell’s case on Tuesday, noted that Lindell in a Monday radio interview said Dershowitz was “part of the team.” “I’ve got probably over 12 attorneys now, including Alan Dershowitz,” Lindell said. “He came on board because he believes this is going to be the biggest First Amendment lawsuit in history.” The MyPillow CEO made similar statements in a separate interview Monday with former Trump adviser Stephen Bannon, saying, “He’s one of a team of lawyers.”
Dominion spokesperson Kay Stimson said in a statement to The Hill that "nothing will change the facts in the case," pointing to a newly declassified report from the U.S. intelligence community about foreign efforts to interfere in the 2020 election. Stimson said the facts of the case "have only been further substantiated by today’s U.S. government intelligence reports from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice on foreign threats to the 2020 US elections, finding 'no indications that any foreign actor attempted to alter any technical aspect of the voting process in the 2020 US elections.'" Dominion in its lawsuit argued that despite continued evidence disproving Lindell’s election fraud claims, the business executive has continued to advance conspiracy theories, “whined that he was being 'censored' and 'attacked' and produced a 'docu-movie' featuring shady characters and fake documents sourced from dark corners of the internet.”

Does anyone know exactly what Dershowitz did in relation to the Pentagon Papers case? I know he was “part of the team” that represented Senator Gravel after the Senator had his reading of the papers published but nothing else.

what jurisdiction is this in again? How soon before we can say default judgment?
Re: Dominion Sues MyPillow And Mike Lindell For $1.3B
I tried explaining this to a few righties who never truly read the section word for word and what it entailed. Many would add words that aren't even in the law. Repealing it would have unintended consequences and would cause them to be "censored" more.noblepa wrote: ↑Thu Mar 25, 2021 10:39 amThat's why I've never understood the right's obsession with repealing section 230.northland10 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 25, 2021 10:12 am If Trump had succeeded in getting rid of section 230, MyPillowTalk would be whacked with a pile of lawsuits in 8 weeks.
