I dunno if this one made the national news or not, probably not. Sinema stated in a closed door fundraising event that she loves Andy Biggs, RWNJ white wing rep from AZ. Unfortunately for her, there was a reporter there *gasp* who reported on it. Her office made a big stink about how it was unsourced, unverified, etc. The reporter then BROKE OUT THE RECORDING. Sinema is so bad. Anyway.

During an interview on ABC’s "Jimmy Kimmel Live!", President Biden hinted at his frustration with the most squirrelly members of the Senate Democratic caucus, Sens. Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin. ”The problem,” Biden said simply, “is we have 48 out of 50 senators vote with me 95% of the time.”
Instead of lumping the two senators together as party outliers gumming up the works, Biden should be celebrating Sinema for being a Democrat who gets things done. She was the lead negotiator, along with Republican Sen. Rob Portman, for one of the biggest legislative accomplishments of the Biden presidency: the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill. Sinema was also the catalyst for the gun safety deal nearing fruition. She sought out Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, and took his advice to connect with Republicans John Cornyn of Texas and Thom Tillis of North Carolina. She brought along the Democrats’ leading gun control advocate, Connecticut’s Chris Murphy. Together, the bipartisan quartet found common ground on gun safety legislation when many thought common ground was nonexistent.
Assuming their initial framework will soon become legislation signed into a law by the president, Sinema arguably deserves more credit than anyone for giving Biden and the rest of the Democratic Party a record of accomplishment to run on for the midterm election. Why dwell on how Manchin tanked “Build Back Better,” when you can tout how Sinema broke through Washington’s stubborn gridlock?

https://www.marketwatch.com/story/we-ex ... 1659633118‘We expect it to be removed’: Democrats’ push to close ‘carried interest loophole’ in jeopardy as Sinema seeks to block effort
Carried interest tax hike has been kicking around the Beltway since 2007, but it’s never reached a Senate vote
Sen. Kyrsten Sinema has signaled her opposition to closing a controversial tax loophole that allows carried interest to be taxed as capital gains instead of income, according to multiple reports.
As a proposal kicking around the Beltway for more than a decade, closing the carried interest tax loophole has won blessing in the U.S. House of Representatives several times, but it’s never won approval in the Senate.
It showed up again as part of the wide-ranging Inflation Reduction Act now under consideration in the Senate after Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, a New York Democrat, and Sen. Joe Manchin, a key West Virginia Democrat, announced a compromise last week.

I dunno. The change they made is weak-sauce anyway, but Sinema has proven extremely reluctant to approve any additional tax on the mega-rich. Manchin, on the other paw, has proven to not like it when things aren't paid for. It's aSlim Cognito wrote: ↑Thu Aug 04, 2022 4:11 pm Because of course she does.

Re: U.S. Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ)
https://www.azcentral.com/story/opinion ... 905702001/Sen. Kyrsten Sinema has been cozying up to Wall Street and the über rich for years
Opinion: Private equity's defense of Kyrsten Sinema's vote in the Inflation Reduction Act simply doesn't hold water.
Dan Mahoney’s defense of Sen. Kyrsten Sinema’s actions to undermine pieces of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) is almost laughable (“Wall Street barons did not buy Sen. Kyrsten Sinema’s vote. Let's set the record straight”).
The IRA originally contained a provision that narrowed a gaping tax loophole, known as carried interest, that allows ultrawealthy private equity and other fund managers to cut their tax bills nearly in half, giving them a lower top tax rate on their compensation than virtually all other working Americans. But Sinema held the legislation hostage until the provision was removed.
You’d be pressed to find another politician championing the carried interest loophole. Even radically anti-tax Republicans, including Donald Trump, find carried interest indefensible. In 2017, congressional Republicans voted nearly unanimously in favor of a Tax Cuts and Jobs Act provision that slightly narrows the loophole.
After all, how do you justify special tax breaks for compensation paid to ultrawealthy private equity, venture capital and real estate moguls, including several billionaires?
You really can’t – unless, perhaps, a personal financial incentive motivates you.

New poll finds that Democrats, Republicans & Independents all hate Kyrsten Sinema equally
Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) has accomplished a feat rare in the annals of politics. She is despised equally by all voters across the political spectrum and by every demographic.
Those are the findings of a new survey conducted for AARP Arizona. The poll of 1,300 likely Arizona voters, conducted by the bipartisan polling team Fabrizio Ward & Impact Research, found that the Arizona Senator’s unfavorable ratings were remarkably the same across party, age, race, and education.
Given her antics in trying to sink President Joe Biden’s agenda, it’s not surprising that 57% of Democrats have an unfavorable view of Sinema. Her own state party censured her for her ongoing support for the filibuster, which, among other things, killed any chance of passage for the Equality Act, which Sinema supports.
