Maybe Tina Peters over in Colly-rah-dy can persuade the warden of her new prison home to buy some MikePillows? Perhaps Lumpy sells magnetic versions which Traitor Tina can use to alleviate her … what is it? … ah yes, fibbing-my-ass-ia.

So there was a hearing at the appellate court regarding the Zeidman lawsuit.
I'm not sure what to make of this. At least one of the judges seemed a bit grumpy.

Wow.
Since IANAL I have much more of an idea of what to make of this: it's crystal clear where one vote is going. Is it a three-judge panel?

James B. Loken, Lavenski R. Smith, and L. Steven Grasz. If it matters, Bush I, Bush II, and Trump appointees. I don't know which one was Judge Grumpy Pants as I have not listened.

ETA, Wikipedia says that Loken is 84. The other two are in their sixties. That was a voice in its 80s, or I'm a red tailed monkey. Not that it matters.
My favorite part was where he said there was no record of the fact offered by Z's attorney that the contestants were expecting packet data, had been told it was packet date, and that it wasn't packet data. Bizarre, if true.

The testimony to that was referenced in the arbitration panels decision.
But the transcript of the actual testimony was not part of the record submitted to the appellate court.
IANL, but isn't it the Lindell's responsibility to furnish the complete record?

Mikey is in trouble on a different front:
Lindell acts like a coked-out nutcase most of the time, but he had to realize that he was betting his business on a last-ditch desperation move by borrowing from these guys. He has enough enablers that if there was a better alternative, someone would have steered him towards it.
I'd also bet that, particularly because these transactions are unregulated, that the standard contracts these lenders use are airtight. I'm sure it often happens that someone desperate borrows a ton of money from this sort of lender and figures they could always challenge the legitimacy of the contract in court under usury laws to avoid repayment...
In other words, if Lindell is thinking he was going to outsmart these guys, it ain't their first rodeo.
Funny how the far right are all in favor of deegulation for absolutely everything, including the financial services industry as long as it benefits them. But when it becomes a hardship, at which point they scream for government help louder than anyone else when they're screwed by a deregulated company that has stacked the deck so they're holding all the cards.MyPillow and CEO Mike Lindell say they resorted to $600K in loan shark-like financing as judgments mounted
MyPillow needed $600,000, and fast. So last month CEO Mike Lindell opted for a merchant cash advance — similar to a payday loan for businesses — and agreed to repay more than $16,000 per day for the cash infusion.
Now the Minnesota company and its founder say the arrangement amounted to an illegal loan with extreme terms, including more than 360% interest and access to employee records.
A lawsuit filed in Carver County District Court last week claims the loan agreement was “usurious, unconscionable and thus unenforceable” and should be tossed out by the court.
The agreement was cast as the purchase of MyPillow’s unpaid invoices but was “merely a sham intended to evade the applicable usury laws,” the lawsuit said. Usury laws cap interest rates for many loans; though the lawsuit was filed in Minnesota, it relies on New York usury laws.
The Merchant Cash Advance Association says in its code of ethics “the ability to access capital through a streamlined and painless process is paramount to the success of a small business.”
Lindell initially agreed to the $600,000 merchant cash advance, which would cost $840,000 to repay, in order to get a real estate loan from Lifetime, according to court filings. The company “refused to honor its commitment” and that loan never came to fruition, the suit says. Lindell and several of his other companies, including Lindell Media and Lindell-TV, guaranteed the cash advance and would be on the hook.

Here in Alabama, consumer groups try every year to get the title loan places regulated. They charge outrageous rated, annualized, like this "merchant" loan of Lindell's.
He obviously couldn't get a loan from a regular bank or fund. He should have asked his buddy Trump if somebody from Russia could help him. Trump was in the same boat - no normal banks would loan to him.

After reading Lucky Loser, I have a way better understanding of Trump's finances. Apprentice is what made him his own money (everything before had come from his dad, including covering all the losses he incurred due to his ignorance and hubris - and his dad apparently thought he could do no wrong and enabled all of it). But now Apprentice money is all gone; not sure of the status of his trust money from his dad. But he still owes a LOT...and has learned that running for office is pretty lucrative for him. Between that and staying out of prison, he's desperate to win no matter what.

Lindell, Trump, et al, are banking on Trump winning. All their problems go away if Trump wins. If Trump loses, all the felon threads on this board become more active than ever.
I wonder if Lindell gets to bring his own My Pillow 2.0 to prison with him.

Wonder if he sent one to Tina Peters. She's almost finished month 1 of her 7 year sentence (I think it's 7).
But Lindell's suit is going nowhere. He knew what he signed, and those loan shark businesses know what they're doing.

As I've said before (I think I said this here recently), car title loans are the 9th circle of Hell for the predatory lending industry. It is a stark example of Republican policies to abuse the poor operate.
Payday loans are bad enough -- they advance you the amount of your paycheck a couple days early, deducting an amount that equates to a usurious interest rate for only a few days of value. But fundamentally, it's an unsecured loan. They can't take any assets of yours -- the borrower has a predictable paycheck and their continued employment can easily be verified.
However, when you do a car title loan, you're securing it with the title to your car... the car you need to get to your job and thus to repay the loan. I'm sure lenders have a hair trigger for default -- the car gets grabbed and goes to auction 24 hours after you're late on the repayment. At that point, you lose your job and you end up on the streets pretty quickly.
I'm sure that the people doing title loans also do ultra-high-risk auto financing, selling the same crappy near-dead cars over and over again to people with high down payments and instant reposession. It's a trap that you'll never get out of once you lose your car.
I notice that car title loans seem to be allowed in states where cars are essential to survival, typically rural states or southern/Sun Belt states, and where there typically isn't much public transit infrastructure. Oh, and where there are GOP-owned legislatures.

Yep - every bit of what you said, john. We have a car title place on almost every corner; maybe as many of them as churches.
It's really expensive to be poor.
