Official Kristi Noem social media accounts appear to have been deleted

Kristi Noem, the Republican governor of South Dakota who has been dogged by controversy since recounting how she chose to shoot dead a puppy and a goat, attracted new questions when it was noted that some of her official social media accounts appeared to have been deleted.

On Monday, a link from Noem’s official website led to an error message on Facebook, which said: “This content isn’t available right now. When this happens, it’s usually because the owner only shared it with a small group of people, changed who can see it or it’s been deleted.”

On X, the governor’s site linked to Noem’s personal page. The official @GovKristiNoem page displayed the message “This account doesn’t exist”.

A new X account, @GovNoemOffice, created this month, had 309 followers, far fewer than the roughly half-million of Noem’s old account.

The new official account featured links to press releases.

Looks as if Rep. Spartz (IN-5) is planning on the "I didn't know I had a gun with me" defense. Something all responsible gun owners say.

Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) on Monday said Americans view Vice President Harris as “a bit of a ding-dong,” a comment that was met with some pushback from Fox News host Neil Cavuto.

Kennedy fired off a series of attacks against Harris on Fox News’s “Your World with Neil Cavuto,” repeatedly claiming polls show that Americans view Harris as “a bit of a ding-dong.”

Cavuto continued to push back on Kennedy’s comments, questioning how beneficial it was for the senator and other Republicans to call the vice president names.

“Margaret Thatcher didn’t giggle, Golda Meir didn’t giggle. When you look at the polls, fair or not, many Americans — and again, this may not be fair — but I’m showing you what the polls show. Many Americans think that the vice president is a little bit of a ding dong,” Kennedy said Monday.
He did not specify what polls he was referring to. Kennedy also said that these polls show that Americans believe that she is a member of the “loon wing” of the Democratic Party and that they believe she is “not a serious person.”

“And let me say it again, I think that fair or not, and it may upset you, but fair or not the American people think those who have an opinion of the vice president think that, number one, she’s a little bit of a ding-dong,” he said.

Kudos to Cavuto for apparently pushing back.

It is my hope that Gomez's brother, who lost her job working for a pro-LGBTQ, Democratic mayor in the State of New Jersey for siding with the sister instead of his boss' constituency, now goes "Gee, this was worth it."

I am way behind on most threads, but had to respond to this one. Isn't one of their big arguments about Trump that, in spire of his many repulsive qualities, he's just a "regular guy" who can "relate to normal people"? Well, normal everyday people laugh about funny things.

story in Tuesday's edition of the University of Florida's student newspaper accuses Ben Sasse of more than tripling his office’s spending during his tenure as school president, directing millions in university funds into secretive consulting contracts and high-paying positions for his GOP allies.

The story in the Independent Florida Alligator says Sasse ballooned spending under the president’s office to $17.3 million in his first year in office — up from $5.6 million in former UF President Kent Fuchs’ last year, according to publicly available administrative budget data.

Messages left Tuesday by The World-Herald seeking comment from Sasse, who resigned his U.S. Senate seat representing Nebraska to take the Florida job, were not immediately returned.

An Ohio restaurateur who drew headlines after announcing a boycott of the Olympics over its controversial Last Supper recreation is now facing a string of serious criminal charges. Bobby George, 43, turned himself in this week on charges of attempted murder, kidnapping, strangulation, assault and rape in relation to the alleged abuse of a woman between November 2023 and July 2024.

According to a warrant, George’s alleged victim said she lived with the businessman, and suffered a barrage of abuse including being attacked at gunpoint. In one alleged instance, George is accused of shoving a towel down the woman’s throat and asking her: ‘You think God is going to help you?’ Last month, George drew the spotlight after announcing his businesses would boycott the Olympics, which he branded ‘insulting to the Christian faith.’
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... mpics.html
....
Court records said George posted bond following his arraignment hearing and turned over his passport. The case also has been bound over to the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas. The arrest warrant also said George threw her around the home they shared.

The warrant said George refused to let the victim leave the home during this altercation. The victim tried to hide in the closet of the home during this incident, according to the warrant.

The warrant claims George also raped the victim as she was coming out of the shower in one instance. In another alleged attack, the warrant said George is accused of throwing the victim into a closet as she tried to leave.
George is involved with several local businesses in the Cleveland and Columbus area, including the following:

Ethos Hospitality Group
Bobby George Restaurants
REBoL
TownHall
Harry Buffalo
Green Goat Cafe Bar
Lost Social Club
Barley House
Lyv wellness space
Red space events
Mandrake - Columbus
Townhall - Columbus

GO DIRECTLY TO JAIL. DO NOT COLLECT $200.

Delightful. Glad to see that they are publicizing the names of the restaurants this POS owns, so people can choose not to do business with them. Few restaurants can withstand a 15%-20% drop in sales for a couple of months, so being "cancelled" by decent humans could be the end of his little empire. At least, I hope it is. Yeah, that would be bad for the people who work there, but there are a reasonble number of restaurant jobs out there these days.

Having done a quick search of past news articles related to him, I suspect the locals are already well aware of him.

I suspect his main defense will be that this a conspiracy by his haters to bring him down.

How do businesses in Ohio, USA, "boycott" the Olympics occuring in France? They won't tune in the TVs for customers? There are other places to eat and get a cold brew.

Bobby didn't think that through. Well, obviously Bobby does think much if he abuses women.

One of Governor Ron's former toadies -- he was one of the sponsors of the whole Reedy Creek Improvement District anti-Disney legislation, but threw over the Governor for FJT over the whole Israel-Hamas thing in October of last year -- decided to give the virtual finger to a judge, apparently.

https://www.floridatoday.com/story/news ... 070034007/
Exhibits attached to the order include a number of screenshots of Fine apparently giving the middle finger and making an "'L' for Loser" gesture, as well as a chat log and a follow-up email from spectators to the virtual hearing condemning Fine's conduct.

Stay classy, GOP! Fight breaks out between two men at a county GOP meeting in Arkansas. I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often with all those aggrieved self-described "alpha males" swaggering around.
