Ya, that would actually look rather snazzy IMO.

I saw my first Cybertruck in the wild yesterday. It's just as ugly in person as it is in photos. And, no surprise, the asshole driving was doing 25 over and tailgating the car in front of him.

I was looking at some 70s science fiction veichles today, and it's pretty interesting looking at what we wanted vs what we got.

This video is 4 years old, but back then this woman decided to turn her Tesla into a Pickup truck. Spoiler, it looks better than the eventual real Tesla Pickup truck.

Tesla recalling more than 125,000 vehicles to fix seat belt warning system
MICHELLE CHAPMAN
Fri, May 31, 2024 at 2:57 PM GMT+2
Tesla is recalling more than 125,000 vehicles to fix a seat belt warning system that may increase the risk of an injury in a collision.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said that the recall includes certain 2012-2024 Model S, 2015-2024 Model X, 2017-2023 Model 3, and 2020-2023 Model Y vehicles.
The seat belt warning system is supposed to provide audible and visual seat belt reminder signals to drivers to alert them that their seat belt isn't fastened. The NHTSA said that on certain vehicles, the audible and visual seat belt reminder signals were not going off at the time they were supposed to, which doesn't comply with federal safety requirements.
The NHTSA said that as of Tuesday, Tesla had identified 104 warranty claims that may be related to the condition. The company isn't aware of any collisions, fatalities or injuries that may be related to the condition.
Tesla, which is headed by billionaire Elon Musk, plans to start deploying an over-the-air software update to the affected vehicles free of charge in June. The software update will remove dependency on the driver seat occupancy switch from the software and only rely on driver seat belt buckle and ignition status to activate the seat belt reminder signals.

Have you just bought a Tesla Wankpanzer(TM) and found that people are not bowing down in the streets often enough to satisfy your fragile male ego? Have women not climbed over each other to get a ride in your Incel Camino?

I would be surprised to find out that this is a factory Tesla, much more likely to be an individual owner that wrapped it.Suranis wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2024 9:36 am Reminds me of a meme where all these fictional evil murdering corporations (Like The Umbrella corporation, Wayland Ytani, Cyberdyne) had their logos decked out in rainbows, the messege bieng that evil Corporations do pandering and dont mean a word of it. Of course then you have to note that the pride flag only has 6 colours, so there's mistakes all round really.

I'll give you a few minutes to figure out what I could be pontificating about in a thread about Tesla products.

I remember, back when the DeLorean was in production, Neiman-Marcus listed a gold-plated DeLorean in their famous Christmas catalog. I forget the price, but it was about three times that of an ordinary car.
They had no takers.
I read an interview with the manager at N-M who was in charge of the catalog. He said that he was relieved that no one bought one, because they had no idea how they were going to plate it.

IMHO, it looks better than a real Cybertruck, which has taken the title of "Ugliest Production Vehicle in History" away from the late, unlamented Pontiac Aztec.
I've seen two Cybertrucks in the wild. They are just as ugly in person as in the pictures.
Would you buy a vehicle that:
Has wheel covers that eat the tires?
Has a self-driving feature that has caused quite a few accidents?
Has a defective "gas" pedal that causes unintended and uncontrollable acceleration?
Has an auto-closing "Frunk" lid that eats fingers?
Can't survive a car wash?

The "Matamoros" on the bumper of the nice car above is a city in Mexico, named in honor of Mariano Matamoros, a hero of the Mexican War of Independence. That's a fine looking vehicle.
