His home town really knows him best. Guilty on all counts. Jury of his peers, New Yorkers.

The 'man on the street' reax has been heart-crushing for me, I will admit.

I find it both funny and sad that the same people who don't see the chain of culpability in Trump->Cohen somehow see one in Biden->Bragg.

Priceless
I also feel like you can’t get a fair trial by jury if all your jurors think the same way.

Typical NYT bullshit. If NYT Pitchbot posted these you'd scoff.

I have to admit I thought I was being punked by Jordan Klepper when I first read them.

You can count on the Queens Daily Eagle for the local angle:

The trial was overseen by another man from the World’s Borough, Justice Juan Merchan, who was raised in Jackson Heights.

Despite their shared hometown, Trump had no love for his fellow Queens man following the trial’s conclusion on Thursday.

“This was a disgrace,” Trump said. “This was a rigged trial by a conflicted judge who was corrupt.”
:snippity: ..
Despite the conviction, Trump was released on his own recognizance Thursday, being spared a trip to Rikers Island, the home of the city’s notorious jail complex which happens to be part of the same borough the former president was raised in
[I'm from Queens, any mention of the diverse but long unfashionable NYC borough tickles me]

Unlike Joe Biden, Donald Trump actually CAN put two sentences together.

This one. And the impending sentences in D.C. and Atlanta.

SO that's three.

One wonders why the felon was released on his own recognizance after getting convicted of 34 felonies?

Republicans seem willing to look past Trump's demonstrated amorality, being themselves of a degenerate mindset.

Most of us do not suffer from this disability.

Hi, rikker and all the others who chimed in since the verdict.

Today it all seems like a dream. A very good dream.

BTW, sentencing is on JULY 11th, not June 11. I saw a couple wrong dates upthread.

I fear for Merchan's safety. :|

Yesterday was a very good day, and a very profound day for America and the rule of law. Nobody has raised the old saying, but America is a government of laws, not of men. Let's keep it that way.
