TESLA and Elon Musk - anything not elsewhere
A couple of days ago, I saw my second cybertruck in the wild.
It is as ugly as the pictures. I think it has taken the title "Ugliest Production Car in The World" away from the late, unlamented Pontiac Aztec.
The wheel covers destroy the tires.
The accelerator pedal sticks at full "throttle".
The self-driving feature has major problems that may have caused a couple of hundred accidents.
The batteries fail after one mile.
The auto-closing fronk lid bites fingers.
It reportedly has a very limited range.
There are reports that the stainless steel bodies are already showing signs of rust.

The biggest problem is the head of the company. When one sees no faults in himself, he sees no faults in his product.noblepa wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2024 12:38 pm A couple of days ago, I saw my second cybertruck in the wild.

I also recently saw my second wild cybertruck. This one was black. I don't know if it was painted or wrapped, but it was slightly less ugly than the bare metal one.
May the bridges I burn light my way.

TESLA and Elon Musk - anything not elsewhere
As from the Lewis Black video.
https://www.thestreet.com/electric-vehi ... ar-companyTesla thinks it's no longer a car company, but it can come back to reality
Elon Musk needs to be laser focused on 'affordable' cars if Tesla wants to compete against its rivals.
Despite all this, the weirdest aspect of the call was that the way Musk spoke about Tesla differed from a few months ago. It seemed as if he was not running a car company, but some sort of confused robotics and AI firm that was dead set on building the next generation of Robotaxis.
Later on in the call, I heard a jarring answer to my provocation from none other than Musk himself.
“We should be thought of as an AI robotics company. If you value Tesla as just an auto company — it’s just the wrong framework. If you ask the wrong question, then the right answer is impossible.”
"If somebody doesn't believe that Tesla is going to solve autonomy, I think they should not be an investor in the company. And we will. And we are."
Although many other enthusiasts, and “Tesla believers“ have seen signs indicating this in the past, at that moment, I knew that the Elon Musk I was listening to on that call was not the Elon Musk that I knew from before.
“Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide.” —John Adams

Is the right answer “I am a genius so stop questioning me!”

Optimus, Tesla's still-in-development humanoid robot, will be able to perform useful tasks in the factory by the end of the year and could reach the market by the end of 2025, Musk told investors after a disappointing earnings report on Tuesday. (26 Apr 2024)

Yeah, and what are we going to call the humanoid robot when we get real AI? Because it's all A and very little I right now.

I am not some big shot CEO, I do not have an MBA, I have not degree in economics, though I have stayed in a Holiday Inn. It seems to me that if you had a company that made widget 1, and you wanted to branch out into widget 2 and 3, it would help to be good at widget 1 so you can reinvest the capital from those sales into your next best thing.
Doesn't Tesla need the car sales to bankroll Elon's other hobbies?
If you need car sales to raise cash and profile to support your Robotic AI thing, do you want the public thinking you don't care about the cars? That could hurt sales, especially as competition increases.
Is his supercharger thing profitable? Seems like it could be if everybody else wants to use it. If you dump the staff who produce that cash flow, then you have not saved costs, you have tossed off your profit.

Does K9 count? I'm not sure if he had intelligence or just followed orders. I believe there's enough Whovians here to set me straight.

K9 expressed opinions and sometimes took actions without being told to do so.
I would say that the K9s (there were more than one) were intelligent.
