OK, enough of that nonsense. I am grumpy on a good day, and I have taken grumpy to a new level of artistic excellence, and I plan to grump and grump and grump some more. I'm still president of the Grumpy People usergroup on Fogbow, and I must live up to my elevated position.

New theory: There's a difference between depression that's caused by mental illness and depression because your life really does, in fact, actually suck.

However, my life will never truly suck, as long as ol' Wifehorn is around, taking care of me like she does.

And for Kris, when they fix a dislocated shoulder (or whatever) it's called a reduction, for godonlyknowswhat reasons.

I have made medical history, y'know. My doctor is a specialist, nothing but shoulders for 30 years, and he never saw anybody with two dislocated shoulders at the same time before. And I have had four dislocated shoulders this month - 3 on the left, 1 on the right. And four reductions.

My doc didn't even need the practice.

Ammon Bundy had two dislocated shoulders at the same time and reduced them hisself. He had to have reduced the one with a dislocated shoulder. That's totally believable, right?

Seriously, you need to find out from the wonder doctor or an associate why they're dislocating randomly when you're not doing anything. That sounds off.

Been saying this for years. I'm seeing an orthopedic surgeon soon (but not soon enough) for what I can describe only as searing, stabbing, tingling, extreme sciatic pain that makes standing, sitting, walking, etc., excruciating and working near impossible. Only tenable position is on back with calves on wedge. Many injections have had zero effect. When filling out the pre-appointment depression assessment, I wanted a free form area where I could explain how this isn't conducive to happiness and it's not my emotional state, it's my physical state.

I've been told I can't have surgery to deal with excruciating nerve pain because I'm too fat. So if I'd been told I could have surgery I would gets excited too.

A dear friend of mine has struggled with her weight for years. She is now taking Ozempic. The most noticeable change for her is that she is no longer hungry like she was. She and I split entrees at restaurants which we had never done before.

I sympathize with your chronic nerve pain. I have pain but it never lasts for more than a day. Of course, I have those episodes 3-5 times per week. Having the break helps my attitude.

It's called Situational Depression, when you fall into a depression over something going on in your life. I've dealt with it on and off all my adult life, divorce and now cancer. The good news is, when/if that situation is resolved, the depression abates. But if the situation doesn't go away, the depression is still treated like a chemical imbalance. They've tried me on a variety of antidepressants, none of which work for me. I go into zombie mode. Sure, I'm not sad anymore, but I can't get happy either and I'd rather have something to look forward to. But that's just me.

Ozempic can be a miracle drug helping people with weight issues, but make sure your friend watches for long-term problems that just now seem to be popping up. Ozempic slows down your digestion which is why people don't feel hungry/eat more. But apparently, in some people, having that food in their stomach for a prolonged period of time leads to other problems.

I have the same problem. It's why they wouldn't (and won't) fix my shoulders.

I'm on Trulicity now, which is similar to Ozempic, but I'm not sure how much it'll do for my weight (though it's doing wonders for my diabeties.) My biggest problem isn't how much I eat, it's that my body has a very hard time processing calories because of a low thyroid and PCOS.

I never had weight loss surgery because I've known people who've had it done and died from complications, as well as others whose lives were pretty much trashed from the side effects. I've talked to people on the web who had good success with it, but have never known anyone in the real world who did.
