I imagine it varies widely between people & types of headgear. Back when I used one, the straps barely left an impression at all, the mask none, and the little they did leave was gone in in minutes.

To quote Bob 'it depends'; the system I am currently using when properly adjusted leaves no discernible marks within 2 minutes or less of removing the mask. The issue is that no matter what kind of mask system is in use beginners as well as long term users have a tendency to tighten straps when they detect a leak while the better course of action may be (at least in my experience) to loosen things up.

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/joe-bi ... -rcna91711Biden warns top aides against offering him political advice on Hunter
The president's message, as one source described it, was: “Hands off my family.”
President Joe Biden has made clear to his closest aides in no uncertain terms that he will not only reject any political advice that he try to limit his son Hunter’s public visibility but that he also doesn’t want to hear such suggestions, according to three people familiar with the discussions.
His message, as one of the sources described it, was: “Hands off my family.”
The blunt directive helps explain why in recent months the father-and-son public appearances seem to have increased in tandem with intensified scrutiny of Hunter Biden’s legal troubles.
But the public displays of parental support, to the dismay of some Democrats, aren’t just about a loving father or a stubborn president’s defiance. For Biden, keeping his son — a recovering drug addict — close means keeping him safe, people close to the president say. Behind the Hunter Biden photo-ops and the state dinner invites, they say, is an existential concern that weighs on the president daily: If he loosens his grip on his son, who or what will replace it — and to what end?
“It’s consumed him,” a person close to the president said.

Biden would play little role in expanding the court, it has to be done in Congress and he can either sign or veto it.
I personally think 13 Justices, one for each circuit, and double the number of Circuit and Appeals Court Benches (as if there isn't a backlog). Or in the alternative, pass a law that grants the President to appoint a new Justice every time one sitting reaches the age of 75, and when that Justice retires or dies the seat is already filled (no new appointment). This controls to some extent the gaming of new appointments (fuck you Mitch), by letting the President plan well ahead of time a new appointment and giving the Senate (fuck you Mitch) no excuse for holding up or rushing through the open seat because it would be a thing everyone knew was going to happen. Hopefully it would encourage Justrices to just retire when they reach the age we settle on, because it eliminates a Justice gaming the system him/herself to assure the seat goes to someone they approve of (Fuck you Anthony Kennedy).
That also can be argued with the people who scream "packing the court" because it only temporarily expands the number of Justices. We would always remain at the base of 9 (or 13 if I were King).

Biden to nominate Elliott Abrams, who lied over Iran-Contra, to key panel
President’s pick for bipartisan public diplomacy commission, 75, convicted of unlawfully withholding information from Congress

Joe Biden intends to nominate Elliott Abrams, a former Trump appointee on Venezuela and Iran who was famously convicted for lying to Congress over the Iran-Contra affair, to the bipartisan US Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy.
The announcement came wrapped in a list of eight Republican picks for bipartisan boards and commissions released in a White House statement on Monday.
“It’s definitely a way to reach out to neoconservatives, and to throw them a bone,” said the historian and journalist Eric Alterman, who has written about Abrams since the 1980s. “It’s a risky move on Biden’s part.”
Abrams, 75, has held senior positions in three Republican administrations, rising to prominence during a controversial run as assistant secretary of state under Ronald Reagan.
During Reagan’s second term, a congressional investigation found that senior administration officials secretly facilitated the sale of arms to the Iranian government and used the money to support the Contras, a rightwing rebel group in Nicaragua – the Iran-Contra affair.

MAUREEN DOWD
Even my Republican sister is not immune to Joe Biden’s gregarious Irish charm.
She met him at media holiday parties over the years and was so impressed that she got seduced to the other side for a time, voting for the Obama-Biden ticket in 2008 and writing in Biden’s name for president in 2012. She sent out a Christmas card one year with a picture of herself cheek to cheek with Biden — and some of her Republican friends stopped speaking to her.
So I was surprised recently when I discovered my sister writing a letter to President Biden, a plea that she had started in the middle of the night, after mulling over the matter for quite a while.
“I watched as you told the nation that you had six grandchildren and you loved each one of them,” she wrote. “I believe that. What I cannot believe and what I find unconscionable is that you refuse to admit or accept the fact that there is a beautiful little 4-year-old girl living in Arkansas by the name of Navy Joan who is your seventh grandchild.”
Peggy wrote about Hunter’s high-priced lawyers going down to Arkansas to make sure Navy could not use the Biden name and to slash child support payments.

I have a pair of these. Bought them about a month ago in the 2nd week of my home leave. They're not *as* comfy as my other Skechers, but they look more like business casual work shoes so I can wear them to actual work on other days except casual Friday.pipistrelle wrote: ↑Sun Jul 09, 2023 2:11 pm Or:

“Socks”. A Demoncrat President’s drawer for countless undisclosed documents disguised as personal notes. A Demoncrat President’s inscrutable eavesdropping cat free to roam the White House while undoubtedly implanted with numerous surveillance devices. A proxy that bypasses internet restrictions to access blocked websites and services. The infamous “Socialist Online Community KeywordS” list? (As used by the so-called “The Fogbow”, a den of self-admitted Obots, libtards, and progressives- aka commies).
And now, a President’s mysterious signal to our foreign enemies - was he wearing socks or not? The Chinese invented socks!!!
Coincidence? I don’t think so. “Socs” is short for socialists - how long have the enemies of all that is American been hiding in plain sight!!!
Patriots must start scrutinising who is wearing what socks. Why hasn’t Q joined the dots and warned us? What socks does Q wear?
