Donald and Boris - popcorn week!

#8676

Post by Grumpy Git »

In the UK Boris Johnson is heading for a showdown...

Boris Johnson will publish evidence in his defence ahead of a grilling by MPs him over whether he misled Parliament about Covid rule-breaking parties.

The former prime minister faces a crucial televised evidence session in front of the Commons Privileges Committee on Wednesday.

...while over the pond speculation grows about Trump being arrested.

I bring this up because this amusing cartoon just turned up on Twitter.

I often wondered about the coincidence of two vulgar, hair-out-to-there, sexually addicted, fascist candidates being elected in the States and Great Britain at the same time. What are the odds?

I knew that some Trump supporter would argue that the 22nd Amendment, which is very clear, somehow does not apply to TFG, or that, because of the Impeachments, he gets a do-over and can run again in 2028, if he wins in 2024.
22nd Amendment wrote: Section 1—No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice,
I see no exception for impeached presidents.

How long will it be before the OSG, himself, picks up this argument?

I read some of the reviews. Some were not happy. Smaller than expected. One said the face is stretched and it look more like Bill Clinton

Another said they bought them to give as gifts to veterans. Huh? Why? tfg refused to serve. At least lil neon TRIED to serve.

I wondered if The Bundys would rally to his aid. Cliven could drive his herd on to the White House lawn.
That would be amusing, imho. but then, some Presidents kept farm animals at the WH

LOL well it wasn't tfg.

But as you all know (because you are Fogbowers and smarter than the average bear), most all those trinkets and toys are not subject to copyright. I spoke with a sibling of mine and said we should do something like this. Sell crap with the name/likeness of former Presidents and we'd be set for life! :towel: :daydreaming:

Word on the Bird is that they are looking at today or Wednesday. FWIW.

The Grand Jury was hearing a final witness today, then probably hearing Michael Coen in rebuttal, before deliberating, all of which has to happen before they can return an indictment. As they meet for three hours in the afternoons of Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, I'm guessing that the very earliest that Trump could be arrested is Thursday. Too, also, as has been said above, "arrested" in this case will be the prosecutor informing Trump he's been charged and working out arrangements with his people and the Secret Service for him to surrender himself for booking and arraignment.
