Twitter’s content moderation head quits as departures alarm the FTC
Yoel Roth had become the public face of Twitter’s efforts to reassure users and advertisers the service would not become a ‘free-for-all’
:snippity: .

The agency said that it was “tracking the developments at Twitter with deep concern” and that it was prepared to take action to ensure the company was complying with a settlement known as a consent order, which requires Twitter to comply with certain privacy and security requirements because of allegations of past data misuse. Three of the resignations Thursday were by members of a data governance committee established in the FTC deal, according to a former employee who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal matters.

So, uh, this was a comment on a group Im on in Facebook. So ya unconfirmed but...
So… seems Elon had an all hands Twitter meeting where he floated “bankruptcy” as a possible end…

Three weeks in and it’s already in play
Even trump too 3 months to destroy the American Football league. Musk seems to have torn Twitter apart out of sheer spite.

I wonder how MySpace is doing?

Honestly, I can only suggest that Musk has done this deliberately, out of sheer spite for forcing him to actually go through with his promise. He wanted to run in, stir shit, an dance away cackling, but Twitter was actually powerful enough to nail his hand to the wall.

So, revenge time.

What will the shareholders of Tesla and Wall Street think about that?

Nor do I think it is a point that any potential employee headhunter will like to disclose.

And vendors and service providers will start asking for prepayments...

Northern Ireland secretary calls on platform’s owner to eliminate fake news after false resignation email

Rory Carroll Ireland correspondent

The battle to curb fake news and fake accounts has swerved into a linguistic debate over the meaning of tosh.

“What does a tosh look like?” Elon Musk tweeted on Thursday in reply to a British government minister who appealed to him to intervene after a false claim that he had resigned.

This video is very well-done. It is a two minute slideshow of headlines from the past two weeks at Twitter.

Sigh. :(

I liked Twitter because many MSM outlets posted headlines there and I could follow journalists and others who interested me all in one place.

Our local Wichita Falls government offices post on Facebook so that isn't being disrupted.

Looked at Mastodon and Counter.social. They have a long way to go to become really useful. But I won't stay on Twitter.

You know I love you, Kriselda, but here's the thing - I follow you here already, and I follow all the people here, and it's the journalists and authors of books I've read and people who have been in the intelligence services and Stonekettle and Marcy Wheeler and all the people I follow on Twitter that I need to find again, because they aren't members here. Or likely to become members.

Sigh. Okay, I'm Bill_Bryan@mstdn.party or sumpin', but I have nothing in my feed and I don't plan to post there. :(

His next big plan is to open all the gates around SpaceX vehicles, and then be completely baffled when they get graffitied.
