So I got an earworm from some music I've been hearing in my workouts, and I finally was forced to do some research and find out about the song. I tracked it down, and it's called Beggin'. This is the version I've been hearing (and dancing to in my Musical Asskicking and Cardio-kickboxing classes, by Madcon.
OK, that's cool, but there's another one, by Måneskin (Italian band, it means 'moonlight' in Danish):
I like that one, too also. But then, I think I mentioned research, it turns out that song was first recorded in 1967 (I was 14) by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons (no, not that Four Seasons ).
And ... the original, as usual, is the best version. Dig it:
.
Edit: ... and here's a nice remix:

While I was sort of joking about something like this Tavener piece being an earworm, it ended up being one for me today. It helps that I really like Taverner choral music (just ask my choir). The one issue is that Taverner, like other Holy Minimalists (such as Arvo Pärt), liked to use both sound and silence (and bells). So now, all the silent moments in my earworm are filled with... Mahna Mahna.

I don't have Bette Davis eyes and don't know anyone else who does, but I did ride my bike past Bette Davis's house in Westport on my way to work this morning.
Oh, too, also there's a classic parody of the Kim Carnes song here:

She is the daughter of Firstborn Son who himself was born in 1981.

So we agree. '81 was a good year.
A very good year!

Once something was done PERFECT --you do not revisit it other than to enjoy. Here is Kim Carnes trying to do this song 20 years later. (and I know every lyric of this song ...but she needed to hang-it-up on a high note).
