:snippity:
The meeting in question was in December of 2018, when the administration had invited select Parkland victims’ families to the White House for a roundtable on “the Federal Commission on School Safety Report.” Before Trump’s on-camera summit with the families, he was in a closed-door Oval Office meeting, where his staff was trying to prepare the then-president to discuss school safety and what his administration was, ostensibly, doing about it.

The advisors got barely “two minutes” into briefing Trump on “school-safety” recommendations before the president upended the meeting with a long and unrelated tirade, according to Miles Taylor, then a Department of Homeland Security official who was in the Oval that day.

“I want to close the border. Let’s do it. If they don’t give me the money we shut the whole border,” Trump said, according to contemporaneous notes Taylor took of the meeting and shared with Rolling Stone. Trump wanted the money for his wall, and his push to buildwas was part of a longer rant in which he discussed the border and yelled at his lieutenants about various media grievances. “can’t focus on the kids. Doesn’t care about the kids. Can only focus on the wall and possible shutdown … F*** this,” the notes read.

According to Taylor’s account, the then-sitting president was furious over an article in a conservative media outlet that had been linked at the Drudge Report — something about Trump’s own administration promising billions in aid to Mexico and Central American nations with the aim of cutting migration to the United States. “Why the f*** are we giving them $5 billion?” Trump exclaimed, as Taylor elaborated on Wednesday. “We should be giving that money to [build] the wall!”

All that time spent discussing how to brief him on Ukraine only to learn he doesn’t know how doors work.

Who amongst Trump's entourage thought this would be a good idea?

Well, there's some debate as to whether or not Trump spent much time in an actual classroom.

So he’s memorializing the dead children by reading their names during his NRA speech? What?

Why? They are all Hispanic names. Can he pronounce them at all? The MAGATS will interpret the names as a kill list.

"Most people don't know this, but they make doors, fantastic doors, doors, like, you've never seen doors like these, I used them in all my properties, and they have locks, locks that even work when you lock from FROM INSIDE THE DOOR. Just pulled the definition of intruder from Websters? But if they come from south of the border we call them terrorist! And we need a wall, not doors!!!

Correction: this is what his handlers told the dimwit to do. A president would know better. P.M. this is a *former* guy, not the real thing.

PS. a real POTUS would not read the names like a trophy list for NRA members, he would be at a rememberence service.

Sick. They are sick. There is something fundamentally wrong with them.

I wondered about that also, after he mocked the pronunciation of Peter Meijer’s name.

I have maintained for a long time that TFG is really white trash who happened to have been born into a lot of wealth.

Without his family's resources, he would be living in a single-wide somewhere scratching out an existence in some unskilled job when he found work.
