Is this not moot at this point? Will/should the court it is remanded to actually do anything?
4th Circuit (in a footnote):
Representative Cawthorn suggests that this case is moot because unofficial reports from the May 17 primary suggest he will not be the nominee for his party this year. Nevertheless, based on the record before us, this appeal is not currently moot in an Article III sense because a primary winner has not yet been certified and it does not appear the challengers have withdrawn their challenge. . . . And to the extent future developments may bear on any mootness inquiry—including whether a controversy is reasonably likely to recur . . .—we are ill-suited to assess such matters on the current record. . . . Because the district court is better suited to apply this fact-intensive test, we leave any questions about whether the primary results will ultimately moot this case to that court in the first instance.
All the judges agreed in the result, but there are also three opinions (with different rationales).
Interesting, thanks bob. It would be cool to get a definitive answer on the issue, as Cawthorn isn't the only boat in this particular sea.

The Fourth Circuit reversed the injunction that Cawthorn obtained halting proceedings in NC as to whether he could be barred from running for office as a rebel/insurrectionists: https://www.ca4.uscourts.gov/opinions/221251.P.pdf

Not for any legal reason, but once you've burned your bridges in your own party, especially in Dukes of Hazard wannabe places, you're done. Running in places like that requires the local "people who matter" to at the very least ignore you and Maddy is gonna get gang tackled every time he comes out the door for the next 20 years.

You don't have to consent, but I'm gonna tase you anyway.

Uh, I admit up front that I know nothing about bitcoin. But how does he have access to $950,000 in bitcoin or anything else?
(I did have an email a few weeks ago that threatened to put everything I've ever put on the internet out for the world to see if I didn't come up with $15,000 in bitcoin within 48 hours.)

Maybe Cawthorn needed to respond to 63 of those extortionate emails?

If I recall correctly he was lending his voice for pumping what became a dump, and probably knew when it was going to crash, so either he was paid in crypto and transfered it out or took his payment in the memecoin and, well, transfered it out. I've seen influencers literally make millions out of nothing in a couple of days if they pump and dump some coin they made up to their followers.
After a long silence, Cawthorn has begun tweeting stupid shit again in the last couple days. Dunno if he is thinking about staging a comeback or what.

Anyone care to speculate as to what Maddy might do after January, 2023, when he leaves Congress?
He is still an idiot, but no longer a useful one. He's not smart enough to run his own business, or anything else, for that matter.
Brake repair.
Too soon?

Some one will take pity on his poor, beleaguered, and misunderstood soul and give him some token job in insurance or selling cars at the local Chevy dealer or pitching motorized wheelchairs and other medical equipment on late night television. There are still those who view him in a favorable light, and his presence might increase the sales and visibility of his employer.
