TPKE is the abbreviation for Parking Lot. At least Biden's staff will be nearby after the Mass exits since nobody ever goes very far on the Mass Turnpike quickly.

The "coming days" have done come and gone.
I dunno.
‘Great resignation’ reaches White House with staff turnover

New White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was delivering her third on-camera goodbye to a departing staffer in less than 24 hours when she quipped to reporters, “I promise we will have a press shop.” She added, “Not everyone is leaving.”

It’s a dynamic playing out across the White House complex this month — and more evidence that not even the White House is immune from what has been called “the great resignation” as employers struggle to fill vacancies and workers jump to new jobs at record rates.

The administration is undergoing a period of unusually high staff turnover as President Joe Biden nears 18 months in office. Long hours, low morale and relatively low pay are taking a toll on both the ranks of the senior staff and the more numerous junior aides who keep the White House functioning.

It’s not unusual for staff to turn over at this point in a presidency, but the swiftness of the change has been stark at times: Two-thirds of the White House press shop, much of the COVID-19 response team, two of the deputy counsels to the president, even the staffer who manages the White House Twitter account are all leaving within a few weeks of each other.

Still nothing when compared to tfg though, especially for senior positions.

Yeah, those signs pointing to Boston are a trap. The quickest way to get home from Fenway after a game is, first, sell your car.

An Urban Legend used to say that the kids from the Vocational School Down the Street* once changed all the One Way signs in Cambridge so that once you had come into the City of Cambridge there was no way to get out. No one noticed. :rotflmao:

A few years back, I was doing a trip to Maine and such, so I arranged to meet up with my aunt in Amhearst. What could possibly go wrong with driving from Logan to Amhearst, on the Mass Pike, on a Friday afternoon, in the summer?

Having lived in Amherst for a few decades, I've learned how to do this:
walk around Boston and see the sights until about 8PM.

Y'know, our member Whatever4 used to live like across the street from Fenway, but she wasn't a baseball fan.

And she didn't have a car, so it was lucky she didn't have to sell it to walk home.

If she went to a game.

Which she didn't. :?

He has moved up to 3.8%, though he is still in last.

Calling Raison... I noticed the State House races had 2 winners for each race. What is that about?

Each district gets two Representatives and one Senator. 30 districts, each roughly the same in population 200k+.

There was an urban legend that may actually be true that the kids at the Vocational School Down the Street once changed the one way signs so that once you were in Cambridge, if you followed the signs there was no way to get out.

I personally think that if they had done the same for all of Boston it would have been an improvement.

Not me....

"the vocational school down the street" is what Harvard people sometimes call MIT which is on what we think is the bad side of Cambridge.

MIT has long been famous for the practical jokes their students pull off and the prank not only fits the profile of MIT students but says something deeply true about traffic in Boston in general. Cambridge is a separate city and its a maze of one way streets that often don't go anywhere, it's not hard at all to get lost and just when you see light at the end of a tunnel the street goes the wrong way and well... I would not be surprised to hear people had died trying to get out of Cambridge before the miscreants went and changed all the signs.

If it's true, I have to admit I am awestruck by the whole thing. Well played, kids, well played. :rotflmao:
