Yesterday our daughter and SIL just happened to run into each other in the court building around lunch time. So they went and had lunch together.

Mrs. V and I just got our Tdap boosters so we will be ready when the new adopted baby arrives.
All parties directly involved have signed letters of intent. Surrender of parental rights will happen shortly after the child is born. Reports are that both the father and mother are relieved to get out from under. They had tried for an abortion but this is Texas.
Child will still be raised by a blood relative since our younger SIL, the adoptive father, is his great uncle.

The drama here never stops. 
Our daughter has taken her husband to the big hospital ER for what may be a reoccurrence of a problem that bedeviled him last summer.
Mrs. V offered to take him because our daughter has to work in the morning. However, when it comes to support for medical matters, a wife is better than a MIL.
They are there now. If Google Maps can be believed, they have moved from the ER into the main hospital.

Daughter and SIL are headed to the birthing city tonight. Rush of activity to get a cat sitter, inform their lawyer, inform family members, etc.

New babies are so exciting! My hope is it doesn't take long for the baby to gain enough weight to be released from the NICU and sent home. Don't know what the rules are there, but they won't release them here until they are 5lbs 6oz. Presley was 5.595 so they only kept her 2 days. Marley was born in the middle of an ice storm so they sent her home after 3 days at 5.5 so they didn't get stuck at the hospital. They're so tiny they look like little butter beans!
