Thunder in the near distance to the SW.

Our lawn service just arrived to beat the storm.

Well, I can't hear the thunder anymore.

Looks like the rain will stay south of us. Parts of the South Fork getting drenched just now.

Our lawn service has finished.

Had local corn on the cob for dinner tonight for the first time this year. Very sweet with just a little butter and salt.

Soon all the NoFo farm stands will have corn.

After a quiet post July 4th week the Circle is going to fill up again next week.

Another cousin, her husband, daughter and granddaughter will be in the cottage to our east.

Mrs. V's number 2 brother and his wife will be in the small cottage that he and Mrs. V own together.

Lawnmowers Ho!

It's Friday evening so there is a lot of noisy traffic on Main Road.

Also 1%ers in the sky heading for the South Fork.

The cats are on the porch watching the fireflies.

The Oldies radio station is hyping the weekend's events.

We await the arrival of Mrs. V's cousin (who lives near DC) and has a cottage on the Circle to play board games.

Forget to mention that the ice cream truck was making its rounds filling the area with music.

Also filling some lucky kids with ice cream.

Mrs.V and her cousin (whose husband decided not to play games tonight) opted to watch a movie so I have moved to the 2nd story porch which is quieter.

Three of our battery powered wall clocks have stopped keeping good time so it is time for a trip to the hardware store.

Our local hardware store was sold by its longtime owners last year. The new owners remodeled it and reopened last fall after we left for Texas. I have heard good things about the remodeling and look forward to seeing it.

Saturday morning so the lawnmowers are mowing.

Mrs.V made it back to the porch with seconds to spare.

The temperature has dropped about 10 degrees.

Mrs. V has gone up for a warm post gardening shower. She tossed me a warm flannel shirt.

Rain less intense. Sky still very dark.

The rain hasn't stopped but the lawn service for one of our neighbors on the Circle is here mowing.

Rain has finally stopped.

Temperature now 70F. I've put on long jeans. Low tonight will be 66F. That's unusually low here for mid July.

Having mug of hot tea.

It is Sunday morning.

According to the church directory on the Oldies radio station we here on the east end of LI have a choice of church services in English, Ukrainian, Greek, Polish, Spanish and, I think, Korean. There are also Jewish Temples.

Heaven knows I am not a religious man but it is nice to have choices.

It is a quiet morning mostly because the grass is still too wet to mow. Chance of more showers until this afternoon then clearing.

So far sharks and clouds have discouraged beach goers this weekend. Traffic will likely increase once the wineries and breweries open.

Sun has come out.

Humidity is dropping.

Feels like summer again.

Lawnmowers have started.

They have to mow before it is time to head home this evening.
