Mrs. V. and I just turned on the water in the little cottage.

Exhausting.

At least it is on.

Managed to rinse off in the upstairs shower hanging onto the grab bar the whole time.

Now have joined the cat on the upstairs porch where there is some breeze.

The Circle is empty.

WLNG reporting temps in the low 90s up island. Currently 88F here.

The cat is finding her favorite spots in the cottage. Sunny spots on the lower porch when she wants to bird watch. Sunny spots on the upper porch when she wants to nap. The sill of the kitchen rear window before and after dinner.

A nice breeze has sprung up.

Just some wet weather last week.

It is before 8 AM. Our lawn service mowers just arrived.

Mowers gone now.

A town work truck drove into the Circle. Two workers now digging a hole.

Time to go get our trash can and take a look.

Appear to be water department folks.

They have departed leaving an open hole with what looks like a shovel handle sticking out of it.

Suppose they will be back.

I saw one last week in Kings Park! We were so excited!

After a few cool days we are at a pleasant 74F.

Wild turkeys have returned to the Circle. Neighbor's daughter reports seeing a groundhog. No deer so our hostas have not been eaten.

Our cat alternates between keeping a sharp lookout for birds and squirrels and napping on the porch where she has claimed a chair for her exclusive use.

Very colourful!

After a beautiful day yesterday today is cloudy and cool with a chance of rain.

One of our daughters and her husband are on the way to visit us. They are now in St. Louis for a few days then will get here Friday.

The rain arrives! A downpour!

Currently 76F with sunshine and low humidity.

Schools are not out here yet so even though it is weeks after Memorial Day the North Fork hasn't filled up with summer people. That will change starting next week.

Many restaurants here are still on reduced schedules. The Modern Snack Bar, for instance, is closed Mondays and Tuesdays and only open until 8 PM on the other days.

Really missing the nearby hardware store which was sold and is now undergoing renovations. Been going there since 1976.

8 AM on Friday so our mowers are here.

Have to admire their work ethic.

I just got up and moved our car on anticipation of their arrival.

At least they work fast.

Friday night and the aircraft of the 1٪ers are overhead going to and from the East Hampton Airport.

The lawn guy just arrived to spread some grass seed. Rain later today.

As soon as I got back from physical therapy Mrs.V. and our daughter headed to the beach to beat the rain.

Our daughter's new school is undergoing renovations so she can't get in to prepare the room until the end of July. So she will spend an extra week here.
