Kari Lake wants elementary school kids to be taught that her election was stolen: “You can go into kindergarten class and talk about sex, but you can’t talk about elections and corruption?”

I agree. If the increase is real, and if it really is due to a tax increase, it must be a state income tax increase. I know of no recent federal tax increase.

So, Kari Lake is trying to blame President Biden for a state tax increase? These people really have no idea how a federal system, with dual state/national sovereignty works, do they?

Good mornin Sugar. Yes, there are two of us, and like you our combined income exceeds our expenditures right now. If I were to pass away first, Mrs would get my SSA (the higher of our two accounts), 3/4 of my pension, and all the investments. It would be a drop in monthly income, but she would still be in the black.

We don't know Darla's situation. $39/mo would be a <1% increase for us, and we've seen a lot of those tiny increases in the last half year from all directions. COVID seemed to have bumped everything up across the board. Our COL is almost $500/mo over this time last year. We've had a significant increase in medical costs. Groceries have gone up. Utilites have gone up. Tires and gas and haircuts and lumber have all gone up. $39 is barely good take out these days.

I'm sure everybody across the country, including Darla, is feeling the pain. If $39 is the straw that broke her camel's back, then she needs to see someone about her situation. There may be help out there. Kari Lake isn't going to fix it for her. Kari could write a personal check to cover the amount. It shouldn't be a big deal for Kari. She's sitting on oodles of donated cash. She could hire Darla as a PR rep and call it a campaign expenditure. Considering the mileage Kari is getting from this hand written letter, she probably should be paying Darla royalties for copyrighted material.

But, I won't recommend Darla hold her breath waiting for that to happen.

Yep. A Darla with a breath, nice hand writing, receiving Social Security and a Military pension, that can't afford a minor tax increase, but can somehow afford to give a spokesmodel and gubernatorial candidate money for their failed campaign. That Darla. Yessiree. God Bless Her and her continued sacrifices for our nation. (cough)

My husband gets a military retirement since 1994 and it increased over $300 a month this year. His social security also increased over $300 a month as well. So yeah, we're paying in more taxes too. :confuzzled:

Looks like Lake may have written the "Darla" letter herself.
TheRealThelmaJohnson @TheRealThelmaJ1 wrote:Interesting. On the left we have the letter from the widow 'Darla' decrying the economy. On the right, Kari Lake's signature on a legal document. Now I'm no Maricopa County signature comparator, but I see a lot of similarities.

They are different. Superficially the L's are similar, but not the same. The letters has a more right leaning slant than the signature. Also, the L in the signature seems to have a larger upper loop.

The lower case A's are also written in completely different ways.

The Capital L and lowercase A are also connected in the signature.

There are a lot more differences, but those are the ones I saw immediately.

Leo has blocked Kari Lake and her team (including War Room) as well as Jen Wright and Rachel Alexander because only he knows what the law says and they are "part of the problem".

He did another Space. Leo generously offered to unblock (fot the Space) people from Kari's team to ask questions. Nobody took him up on it. He's mad that they didn't file a motion for a new trial (it would have to be today, that's different than the appeal they filed for). Basically, he's convinced that since Rey Velunsuela didn't specifically say that the signature exemplars were from the voter's original registration form, that invalidates all those signatures. He thinks the AZSC remand was giving "hints" to Lake's team, and that Hobbs is "hanging on by a thread".

Also, he's all for the AZ Legislature just appointing GOP Electors for the 2024 race and taking it back from the popular vote. And then thinks every other GOP state will do that.

Bonus: Leo posted something interesting, a poker hand for $3.1M.

$3,100,000 was in the middle at the end of this insane poker hand that took place during the Hustler Casino Live Million Dollar Cash Game. Fan favorite Wesley took on the legend that is Tom ‘durrr’ Dwan. This is a poker hand that you do not want to miss!
