I wonder if he was still looking for the keys to the unlocked classroom door when was terminated?
You don't need religion to have morals. If you can't determine right from wrong then you lack empathy, not religion.

UVALDE, Texas (KXAN) — The Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District school board has voted to fire the district’s police chief following allegations that he made several critical mistakes during the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School that left 19 students and two teachers dead.

The district was going to hold a similar meeting on Arredondo’s fate on July 23 but canceled it at the request of Arredondo’s attorney who cited conformity with due process requirements. During a meeting Wednesday night, the school board voted unanimously to fire Arredondo.

Arredondo has drawn criticism for his leadership during the response to the Robb Elementary shooting that killed 21 people. He has been on administrative leave since June 22.

He is the first officer dismissed over the hesitant and fumbling law enforcement response to one of the worst school shootings in U.S. history. Only one other officer — Uvalde Police Department Lt. Mariano Pargas, who was the city’s acting police chief on the day of massacre — is known to have been placed on leave for their actions during the shooting.

At least they charged the 7yo. Nothing about the parents. /sarcasm
7-year-old boy found with 2 guns at Cochise County school, deputies say

The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a seven-year-old boy reportedly brought two guns to his school on Monday.

In a Facebook post, deputies said they were called to an elementary school after someone reported a second-grade student with a weapon in his backpack. When deputies got there, they found a gun with ammo inside his backpack along with a second handgun. His parents were called, and deputies ultimately referred him to juvenile court, where he will face a count of misconduct with a weapon and one count of a minor in possession of a firearm.

The sheriff’s office did not say what school the boy attended nor where he could have obtained the guns. No other information was immediately released.

An old fashioned bomb threat. We had those when I was in high school. Never found any bombs.

They had a bomb threat the other day at Walmart when they were giving away water. The guy apparently thought that was a good way to get to the front of the line because there were 4 times as many cars as cases of water available. It didn't go as planned though because people refused to leave for fear of losing their place in line and missing out on the water.

Henderson County youth league fires back at critics of its raffle of rifle

EAST FLAT ROCK, N.C. (WLOS) — The controversy over raffling assault rifles continues in the mountains.

The latest fundraising effort involves the East Henderson Youth Football and Cheerleading League, a nonprofit organization for children 5-12 years old.

The league is raffling an FN 15 Patrol Carbine M-LOK

“I thought it was in very bad taste for them to choose a weapon that is being used against children,” said a Henderson County parent who did not want to be identified.

The FN 15, which has an AR-style magazine, is up for grabs through raffle tickets sold by parents of the athletes.

“I was honestly shocked when I received the message that the children were going to be selling an assault rifle because of what’s going on at schools around the country,” the concerned parent said.

“The AR raffle has taken place three years consecutive and brings in the most support we have ever had,” the league spokesperson wrote on in the statement. “This fundraiser has been taking place for many years. Shotguns, rifles, and gift cards to local gun stores, along with professional and collegiate football game ticket raffles, pancake breakfasts, sports cups and other attempts at fundraising.”
That North Carolina place is odd. The only prizes are guns and ammo -- game tickets and pancake breakfasts -- as possible rewards. Strange place. How about a Home Depot Card?

Moar at the link, but the upshot is that it was perfectly legal, she's in an open carry state and there are no restrictions for schools or other sensitive areas. The school, in response, is discussing putting up a large wall.

Today a man with an AK-47 walked down the middle of the street that runs alongside the playground at my daughters' school. During recess. My 5yo was on the playground with her classmates. Feet away.

Teachers rushed the kids inside and the kids were none the wiser for it.

By chance, the gunman apparently showed no interest in the school or students. He continued down the middle of the street (yes the middle, not the sidewalk) and past it.
Someone could do the exact same thing at my kid's school, all they have is chain link and wrought iron. No laws would be broken as long as they stayed on the sidewalk (or street.)

Four high schools in Phoenix on lockdown, reports of shots possibly fired. Streets blocked off, parents told to stay away. P.S. all four high schools are fairly close to each other, this is one incident.

Xavier, Brophy and the Coding Academy are also on lockdown as a precaution. Parents we need you to stay away from the area right now. The area is all blocked off.
After Uvalde, who trusts that their children will be kept safe?

But please tell me about how more guns and cops in schools is the answer.
