Prolly because their attorney advised them to turn themselves in.

We don’t think they are in Canada. Maybe the UP. Easy to hide there.

Crumbleys’ lawyer Shannon Smith, who previously represented former Olympic physician Larry Nassar, confirmed to The Daily Beast that the couple “left town on the night of the tragic shooting for their own safety.”

“They are returning to the area to be arraigned. They are not fleeing from law enforcement despite recent comments in media reports,” Smith added.

What's worse is they set him up for a lifetime behind bars, then abandoned him.
And he's currently all of 15 years old... :crying:

So? Even that piece of shit Larry Nassar was entitled to vigorous representation.

I don’t know how many times I’ve had to tell prosecutors and appellate government counsel, “Look, I’m not the one who distributed the drugs/downloaded the child pornography/defrauded the government, or whatever, so stop treating me as if I am!”

Believe it or not, in the criminal justice system the cards are stacked in favor of the government. Being a criminal defense attorney is hard enough without people imputing the actions or motivations or characteristics of the client to his or her counsel.

For me at least, the interesting part of this tidbit isn't that there is anything wrong with the lawyer, and more what it might say about their social network that this particular one ended up connecting with them.

Nassar’s lawyer didn’t come cheap. These assholes seem to have lots of money. No idea where it’s coming from.

And the assholes still haven’t turned themselves in. Good luck arguing they aren’t a flight risk for bail. They disgust me.

Indeed. This is about the stupidest thing they could have done.

Why would there be? Unless they have an actual lead on their location the cops on patrol are just doing their usual cop stuff and keeping an eye out for them and their vehicle. Crime doesn't stop no matter what else is going on. The action has moved to the investigative stage at this point. Men in suits with concealed weapons are doing their thing now. The chances of the parents being anywhere near Oxford right now are pretty low.

Yeah, they are driving a 2021 car, just bought their kid a new handgun, and yet are getting dragged into court in FL over a lousy grand back child support. It seems odd.

Because this area is very traumatized. Their kids haven’t even been buried yet and two armed and dangerous idiots are fugitives. The cops don’t know where these people are, they very well could be around here, desperate armed fugitives. Oakland County is a huge place. Seeing NO cops is just bullshit.

Don't sell them short, I'm sure they'll ignore their brilliant lawyer's advice and do plenty more stupid stuff.

US Marshals join Oakland County Fugitive Team:
https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/ ... 855814002/

Not the MSP but Oakland County. Seems like the fugitives might still be in the area.

These lawyers could broker a deal with law enforcement to pick up the fugitives at a designated area but no. Taking their time.

Not a lawyer and all, but if they were ready to turn themselves in, couldn't they drive into any police station and surrender?

They were supposed to be arraigned at 4pm, but that came and went and now the court is closed. I dunno how that works, but it seems to me that it means they will get the pokey if apprehended until court opens Monday? IAACrLs?

My burning question is why the fuck the school officials who met with the parents and the kid:
1. Didn't ask the parents to check where the gun was.
B. Didn't ask if there was a gun in the backpack.
#. Didn't send the back pack with the parents.
14. Didn't keep the kid away from other students.
552. Didn't call the fucking cops.

I plan to check the student policies and the state laws. I am real sure the school fucked up - not the teachers - management.

ETA. School district student policy requires management to contact police if there is a threat of harm. Management could also have suspended the student short term with notice of charge and right to request a hearing.

There is a statutory, automatic expulsion if a student posseses a firearm.

The locker policy gives management the right to search school lockers. No lockers were in use because of Covid. Students just used backpacks. Seems like management had the right to search the backpack which is a substitute for a locker.

Student policy states in two provisions that the school district must contact the police about any incident or conference concerning weapons. The district is also required to contact DHS.

How far from Oaklands to DC?

2 armed trumpers on the way to jail might try to go out in a blaze of stupidity trying to get at political figures.
