So, where to begin? Last I reported in I had just had my surgery. Recovered well from that with no complications. Thought I was in the clear until I go back for my next immunotherapy treatment on Monday, except I had my usual 6 month endocrinologist appt this week and he discovered that the immuno drug had completely killed my thyroid. A TSH reading of 0.5-5.4 is normal. Mine is 215. It's apparently a known risk with the Keytruda, and the oncologist had put me on 12.5 synthroid a couple of months ago when the TSH started climbing. The endo jumped it up to 75 and wants to see me in a week. Another drug I'll be on for the rest of my life. I'm hoping the thyroid thing doesn't interfere with the last 6 months of immuno therapy but I have a feeling it might.

Meanwhile, we're meeting with my husband's heart surgeon tomorrow. We'll find out if it's going to be bypass or pacemaker surgery. Hoping it's just the pacemaker. He had triple bypass about 10 years ago and had a hard recovery, including a partial foot amputation and additional surgeries to insert stents in his abdomen and leg.

My 90 year old dad has also been in and out of the hospital for the last month and I haven't been able to see him yet because my idiot sister has been down from Memphis with her unvaccinated Fox loving ass and I'm not getting anywhere close to her. I told my mother to let me know as soon as she goes home so I can come see my dad. My sister left the same day her oldest daughter came down. Also unvaccinated. Maybe I'll be able to get out there this weekend when they don't have a houseful of unvaccinated people staying with them. My mom just called and said they took him back to the ER earlier today but they're sending him home this evening.

I'm sick to fucking death of medical shit.

As always, this is just pity party and brain puking so feel no obligation to respond or comment.

Some things are simply too fast, or too relentless to avoid. Like the North Carolina rain.

Or the future.

I'm so sorry to hear about all that. Sometimes everything just sucks. :bighug:

I hope things start to turn around soon.

Nothing wrong with having a "pity party." You've earned the right, and it's much better than not letting it out.

Radiation starts tomorrow! Pretty nervous about it but also excited to get it started so I can get it over with.

Went out to check on my dad earlier today and I guess since he was completely unresponsive my idiot sister thought it would be a good time to start a screaming match with me. Well, not exactly "match" since I just stood there while she screamed. At one point she was practically slobbering while she screamed "that's MY father in there" and I heard a snicker from my friend who was with me. That's right, she started this shit while a complete stranger was standing there. When the IS busted out with the n-word, I literally threw my hands up and said "that's it. The end" and started to leave. She snarled in my ear "that's right, you're such a lib that you head will probably explode from hearing someone say that." She can't even come up with good insults.

On the other hand, my friend who was with me is an attorney and when my IS started in about the power of attorney she tried to argue with my friend. Of course, the IS was wrong, but my friend (based on some of the things the IS said- I was in the other room) sees HUGE red flags for undue influence on my parents. Got to have a conversation I'm not looking forward to with my brother, who is the executor of their wills. Fortunately, I'm fairly close to him and his wife (she's the sister I should have had) so I can be honest with him and maybe keep her from doing stupid(er) shit. She's also driving a brand new Honda van my parents bought for her. We have no idea how she convinced (coerced?) my parents to agree to give her durable power of attorney over my dad. Half a dozen car repos, 3 evictions we know of, 1 foreclosure and at least 2 bankruptcies, and her husband makes $15 hours cutting grass at the city park and she hasn't worked in 15 years. Not the person I would choose to handle my finances.

Whew! Thanks for letting me vent.
