I am thoroughly disgusted at this false flag shenanigan on the part of the Lincoln Project. Talk about stupid!
Isn't the whole Lincoln Project a false flag endeavor?

Like I've said before, they're not upset at what the GQP has become, hell, they helped get it there, they're just upset they lost control of it to an incompetent moron... :bored:

Saw Larry Sabato on CNN last night. He says Dems are outpacing GQPs by a 60/40 margin in early voting. Who knows what the turnout will be on Election Day? Plus the GQP has goons ("poll watchers") that will be fanning out (read: intimidating) on Election Day. Used to be that the DOJ would send in lots of people to monitor the polls and prevent voter intimidation. I haven't heard anything about that in Virginia.

This was my first time voting in Page County. I voted early. The poll workers were young (20s), which was a bit of a surprise (the population out here is old as dirt). Not too many people at the precinct today, but the few we saw were young people of color.

Most of the black people I know are politically involved, and I know that's not a true representation of the entire population of black people in my state.

But as a kindness to the Republican Party, I would like to respectfully suggest that you not send anyone to try to intimidate any of the black people I do know. That will not end well for you.

Might make some really captivating video, though.

Larry was on C-SPAN's Washington Journal for about an hour yesterday morning:

https://www.c-span.org/video/?515689-4/ ... y&live

Larry J. Sabato
WELL, I WILL GIVE YOU A GENERAL COMMENT AND GET DOWN TO SPECIFICS, TRY TO BE BRIEF BECAUSE WE WANT TO GET TO THE QUESTIONS. BUT GENERALLY SPEAKING, THERE ARE SIMPLY MORE DEMOCRATS IN THE NEW VIRGINIA THAN THERE ARE REPUBLICANS. A LOT MORE. THAT WASN'T TRUE EVEN 10, 15 YEARS AGO. YOU HAD MORE REPUBLICANS THAN DEMOCRATS. BUT THE STATE HAS BEEN CHANGING SIGNIFICANTLY IN DEMOGRAPHIC TERMS AND IN REGIONAL TERMS. THE -- REGIONAL TERMS. THE MOST DEMOCRATIC REGION OF THE STATE IS NORTHERN VIRGINIA, AND NORTHERN VIRGINIA DEPENDING ON HOW YOU DEFINE THE REGION, IS ABOUT 1/3 OF THE ENTIRE STATEWIDE VOTE NOW ASSUMING THEY TURN OUT. BACK IN THE OLD DAYS, AND I'VE SEEN VIRGINIA SINCE THE EARLY 1950'S, VIRGINIA WAS DEMOCRATIC BUT VERY CONSERVATIVE DEMOCRATIC, SOUTHERN DEMOCRATIC. IT SWITCHED TO REPUBLICANS IN THE 1970'S, ACTUALLY BEGINNING WITH A MAN WHO DIED THIS WEEK, GOVERNOR HOLTON, WHO WAS ELECTED IN 1969 AS THE FIRST REPUBLICAN GOVERNOR OF THE 20TH CENTURY. NOW, HAVING SAID THAT, IF DEMOCRATS GET THEIR VOTE OUT, THEY WILL WIN BECAUSE THERE ARE A LOT MORE DEMOCRATS THAN REPUBLICANS. THE PROBLEM THAT DEMOCRATS ARE HAVING IS GETTING THAT VOTE OUT. REPUBLICANS ARE MUCH MORE ENTHUSIASTIC BECAUSE THEY THINK -- THEY THINK -- THEY HAVE A CANDIDATE WHO CAN WIN AND THEY HAVEN'T BEEN IN OFFICE FOR 10 YEARS.
He answered questions on the show. There's a transcript on the page too. Some folks thought Larry was a bit dour, but he mentioned it was early af on a Sunday morning.

I live in Trump country. I have to say, I’m very pleased to see a lot of McAuliffe/Ayala/Herring yard signs out here. (A lot being a relative term. Youngkin will win the votes overwhelmingly out here, but still, it seems better than it did four years ago.)

Dave Wasserman @Redistrict 29m
Based on local turnout reports, VA is on track to break 3 million votes, which would surpass gubernatorial record of 2.6M set in 2017.

Not clear which side that benefits, but this isn't a scenario in which turnout in blue areas is falling through the floor. #VAGOV

Miles Coleman from Sabato's Crystal Ball retweeted this:

What to watch from Decision Desk:

This is from Miles' and Kyle's last words on VA:
A couple of additional things to watch tomorrow: Because of changes to Virginia law, mail-in and early ballots will be tabulated more quickly than in 2020, so instead of the Republicans jumping out to an early lead, Democrats are likely to. Then it will be a question of whether Youngkin catches up to and passes McAuliffe, and there may be late drama depending on the rhythm of the vote count. Also, for all of the focus on the suburbs, keep an eye on the red, rural counties in central and western Virginia. The turnout and the GOP performance in those areas are a very important part of this story too. So too is Democratic turnout and performance in heavily Black areas, particularly in the Greater Richmond and Hampton Roads regions. In an election that has the potential to be extremely close, it’s never just one place or one group that decides the outcome.

Forgive my ignorance but I'm not familiar with "falling through the floor." Does that mean the floor giving way because of lots of people showing up, or falling as in turnout fell off?

Falling through the floor means collapsing. So Dave's saying turnout is better than expected.

One of my fav phrases with the same idea was from Michael Eisner when he said, "You can't fall off the floor"

Normally heavy turnout is good for our side. However, after months of TFG demonizing mail-in ballots as some kind of nefarious, socialist, corrupt scheme to steal elections, a reversal has occurred, perhaps. I believe the mail-in vote was running 60/40 Dems. So Dems will take an early lead. Then the race will tighten as in-person votes come in. Then Trump will screech like a scalded baboon that the race was stolen because they kept counting votes after midnight, and many of his brain dead zombie followers will believe him.

I hope I'm wrong about all of the above. I succumbed to Terry's every- two -minutes pleas for donations and donated about 4 times so I feel invested in this race.
Plus, we do need it.
