IIRC, she had been rather negative about Trump previously, and last year. However, her saying Biden did better is really, really confusing. Didn't Trump order the drawdown and evacuation of Afghanistan sometime last year? I seem to remember that his date was May 1 or June 1.

So, according the the RWNJs, Trump ordered the withdrawal, but Biden is committing treason for actually doing it?

Trump also predicted that, whenever we DID leave, it would be a bloodbath. One of the few things he was right about.

IIRC Coulter has long been critical of Trump, starting not too long after his inauguration. She was a true believer in Trump’s nativist/America First agenda. She was incensed that he did not press harder to achieve the legislative implementation of core elements of his platform, e.g. building the wall. I think she viewed him as an undisciplined mass of hot air who talked the talk, but failed to walk the walk.

Ann Coulter Begs Conservatives to ‘Stop Pushing Strict Limits on Abortion’

Ann Coulter warned her fellow conservatives that the Republican Party needs to stop running on anti-abortion laws because it’s costing them winnable elections.

“The demand for anti-abortion legislation just cost Republicans another crucial race,” the columnist wrote on Twitter Tuesday night. “Pro-lifers: WE WON. Abortion is not a ‘constitutional right’ anymore! Please stop pushing strict limits on abortion, or there will be no Republicans left.”

Coulter doubled down and broadened her positions later on when she got back on Twitter and promoted those who warned that the Wisconsin election is a signifier for the Republican Party’s ineptitude at winning elections. She retweeted one Twitter user who assessed “Serious political parties have one job — win general elections. The Republican Party is currently not a serious party and it won’t be until it kicks its Trump/MAGA habit.”

I assume she realizes that to win elections, you cannot scare away folks with the most extreme positions (rather bit ironic from her). Since the MAGA world lives on grievance only, every statement, every law, has to top the one before it. She likely knows that to get change, ou have to be quieter and pass incremental laws. Instead, each MAGA candidate has to top the previous one with even more extreme rhetoric.

You don't win elections by showing off to the extreme wing.

I will continue to despise her positions, but politically, she is making sense. This makes me

It could happen. I was raised in a very conservative family. I cringe whenever I remember that, at age 18 I voted for Ronald Reagan. I did not vote for him a second time, within those four years I was able to get away from the influence of family and realize the Republican party stood for everything I was against and nothing I was for.

I would be totally OK with Coulter having some kind of awakening. I find it interesting that many of the Republican pundits who were never Trumpers actually admit they agree with Democratic policies. Once they got out of that bubble it's like the lights came on, same as what happened to me.
