In the NYC area the LIRR has very limited service on one line. Metro North trains aren't running. Subway lines being slowly brought back into service.

Buses running normally.

Quite a few highways closed in NYC, Westchester and eastern New Jersey.

Morning commute into NYC a nightmare.

Nine deaths reported.

My cousins daughter lives in Philly. She just sent me a video of the (now) river running past their rowhouse. They have since been evacuated. I was supposed to meet my cousin in Philly later this month. I guess I best check in with my Airbnb host to see if she’s OK.

LIRR restored some service to every line except Port Washington which remains shut down.

Metro North and NJ Transit still shut down.

Subway service being restored little by little as stations are pumped out and repairs made.

Several highways still closed in and near NYC.

On the plus side the weather today is bright and sunny.

I watched the horror unfold on CNN early into the morning (props to Don Lemon for covering it for hours after his show was supposed to end). I know people were dealing with the immediate emergency but I hear very little about climate change causing death, destruction, enormous economic damage etc. That's some hoax the Chinese have perpetrated.

TD Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater was underwater following heavy rainfall from Hurricane Ida remnants. The park is home to the minor league baseball Somerset Patriots.

Do players now get snorkeling gear and speedos?

PS. I don't think that any tarp matters with this amount of water. The grass will be gone after swimming in so much dirt water.
