I think we need video of Kyle testing this equipment while being shot with multiple successive .30 caliber M2 armor piercing bullets. Hay nao, he's a tough guy, he won't even feel the hit. I mean, he's not lying about the gear, amirite?

The stock is to high, so the point on the bottom rear will jab him very painfully and the stock is not pressed tightly against his shoulder. When I was taught to shoot, I was always told that the stock must be against my shoulder.
Standard Marine Corps firing position from the shoulder is that the upper portion of the butt stock be seated in the natural pocket that is formed just under where your shoulder socket ends, just travel up from your shoulder pit, pressing in to find it...

I learned that in the boy scouts.

I learned it at summer camps. I was an NRA sharpshooter, very proud of my prowess with a .22. I had all kinds of medals. Now my eyes don't work so good. :(

How does Kyle's gear do against a shotgun to the face?

Not well, but this gear is marketed to self-styled patriots and "tough" guys, who think that it makes them look fearsome.

Shit I don't know much about guns but even I know that. Then again I've been shooting quote a few times at the range

How does it do against a shopping bag? That’s the real question.

Or in the position on the photo, a shotgun butt to the face. It's not pleasant.

Yes, another thing I learned at scout camp.

I think he should and fight on the side of Russia so he can see what it's like to have to try to fend off attackers that actually have decent weapons and skill to use those weapons. He wouldn't last a minute and a half I suspect. He would soon find out that he left out one vital piece of equipment these cosplaying rookies would need when facing a real threat - their adult diapers.

Actually, I think that they are overpriced.

If there is no ticket revenue, who is paying Kent State for the use of their auditorium?

No idea, but my bet would be a Young Republicans group or some such conservative group on campus.

I just looked at the flyer again. It says Turning Point USA in the upper left corner, so they are probably paying. Wanna bet there's a "donation" box in the lobby?

Turning point must have contracted him for a period of time or something. He hasn't bothered to inform himself of anything so he's not useful in any real way as far as political things are concerned. I won't be crying any tears over their wasted funds.

It might be one of those deals where they schedule a "speaker" and then gin up a protest against the event like they tend to do.

:yeahthat:

They want reactions, protests, and possibly even a threat to ban them. They may even then just cancel his appearance because reasons. There Their worst case is there are no reactions against it and Kyle gets to speak to bore 8 people.

I agree with the idea they want reactions (was Kent State of all places chosen by accident?) and the best response would be to ignore the event. But they certainly don't have to do anything to "gin up" protests beyond inviting him. The protestors will always take the bait:
Outrage erupts over Kyle Rittenhouse campus tour

Here's a statement from the Kent State administration, which expresses the correct position on free speech grounds.
Kent State wrote:A registered student organization is bringing this speaker to campus. Kent State University upholds the First Amendment rights of free speech and peaceful assembly for all. As a state university, we permit groups and individuals to speak and share their views on our campus about topics they feel are important.

As with any speaker invited to our campus, the university does not endorse or condone an opinion or point of view represented by the speaker, nor does the university advocate for any topic the speaker might discuss during their visit to campus. We continue to support and encourage freedom of expression and the free exchange of ideas. Consistent with our core values, we encourage open dialogue and respectful civil discourse in an inclusive environment.

The school actually not stopping it is a loss for the organizers. They want it stopped because they can play the victim card for contributions. Protesters do not bring in cash in the same amounts that they could be get by claiming they were denied their first amendment rights. If Kent State is letting it go on, I would not be surprised of the organizers came up with some excuse to cancel it (security, scheduling issues, etc).

They are using Kyle and they are using their base to gin up cash and notoriety and nothing more.

TPUSA evidently has chapters on campus as registered student organizations who can invite speakers. Student orgs typically get free use of campus facilities for speakers if properly scheduled. National TPUSA might be funding his travel and lodging and maybe paying him a speaking fee to boot.

I feel proud as an American that that guy who roleplays a moron so well was able to instantly detect all the people in the crowd who were horrible criminals and such and out an end to them, and who crippled a guy who was practicing socialism by being a medic and trying to be a good guy with a gun.
