There are women who have given birth that have a Y chromosome. Texas would classify them as male.

Also, what are they going to do with people who have genetic mosaicism with some cells that are XX and others that are XY?

Science has a bad habit of getting in the way of a really good discriminatory bill. Dammit!

Not exactly. XXY people are Male. Its called Klinefelter syndrome.

https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-con ... c-20353949
Overview

Klinefelter syndrome is a genetic condition that results when a boy is born with an extra copy of the X chromosome. Klinefelter syndrome is a genetic condition affecting males, and it often isn't diagnosed until adulthood.

Klinefelter syndrome may adversely affect testicular growth, resulting in smaller than normal testicles, which can lead to lower production of testosterone. The syndrome may also cause reduced muscle mass, reduced body and facial hair, and enlarged breast tissue. The effects of Klinefelter syndrome vary, and not everyone has the same signs and symptoms.

Most men with Klinefelter syndrome produce little or no sperm, but assisted reproductive procedures may make it possible for some men with Klinefelter syndrome to father children.
The XY female variant is called Swyer syndrome. its based on a mutation in the Y chromosome.

https://medlineplus.gov/genetics/condit ... /#synonyms
Swyer syndrome is a condition that affects sex development. Sex development usually follows a particular path based on an individual's chromosomes; however, in Swyer syndrome, sex development is not typical for the affected individual's chromosomal pattern.

Chromosomes contain the genetic instructions for how the body develops and functions. People usually have 46 chromosomes in each cell. Two of the 46 chromosomes, known as X and Y, are called sex chromosomes because they help determine whether a person will develop male or female reproductive structures. Girls and women typically have two X chromosomes (46,XX karyotype), while boys and men typically have one X chromosome and one Y chromosome (46,XY karyotype). In Swyer syndrome, individuals have one X chromosome and one Y chromosome in each cell, which is the pattern typically found in boys and men; however, they have female reproductive structures.

People with Swyer syndrome have female external genitalia and some female internal reproductive structures. These individuals usually have a uterus and fallopian tubes, but their gonads (ovaries or testes) are not functional. Instead, the gonads are small and underdeveloped and contain little gonadal tissue. These structures are called streak gonads. The streak gonadal tissue is at risk of developing cancer that is often hard-to-detect, so it is usually removed surgically. Swyer syndrome is also called 46,XY complete gonadal dysgenesis; the medical term “dysgenesis” means "abnormal development."

Because they appear female on the outside, babies with Swyer syndrome are usually raised as girls and develop a female gender identity, which is a person's sense of their gender (girl, boy, a combination, or neither). Swyer syndrome may be identified before birth, at birth, or later when a child does not go through puberty as usual. Because they do not have functional ovaries that produce hormones, affected individuals often begin hormone replacement therapy during early adolescence to start puberty, causing the breasts and uterus to grow, and eventually leading to menstruation. Hormone replacement therapy is also important for bone health and helps reduce the risk of low bone density (osteopenia) and fragile bones (osteoporosis). Women with Swyer syndrome do not produce eggs (ova), but if they have a uterus, they may be able to become pregnant with a donated egg or embryo.
So, ya its easier to define the other way, rather than filling the woman with hormones the non functional reproductive system can start working, allowing someone elses eggs to develop, and then glossing over all that for a twit post.

Anyway, the bill could be easily amended if it was a serious bill, which it isn't.

That's why preliminary bills are amended with medical consultations and so forth. If it was a serious bill it will probably wind up very different after the consultation process. Which is one reason sneering at the preliminary wording of a bill to pretend you are superior than other people is rather stupid.

I seriously doubt the Texas legislature is going to consult with scientists and amend the bill. Thus, I sneer in its general direction.

We have friends who had a son born with Klinefelter Syndrome. He wasn't diagnosed until he was about sixteen.

BREAKING: Texas Gov. Abbott's chief of staff sent a letter to all state universities warning that their DEI programs violate civil rights law.

The fight against left-wing racialist ideology has just begun—and we will not stop until colorblind equality is the law of the land.

If FL and TX could be allowed to proceed with their vendetta against progress and forward movement, then in a generation, when none of their college graduates can get jobs and none of their HS grads can get into any colleges except in TX and FL, this nonsense will be defeated. /snark

What was the original impetus for DEI in the first place at these Universities? Most state constitutions have language about equality. I assumed they were mandated by the states of their universities.

This is not just the Universities, it will be aimed at all Government jobs, and in time, if they get away with it, will be enforced against private employers.

Wow, it seems that Hot Wheels Himmler can make a civilized request to Biden without an insult, unlike his "boarder crisis" letter...

Convicted murderer Greg Abbott wants to pardon sought "chats to meet young girls"
"No nudes until you are old enough": Racist murderer's grooming chats exposed

"Included in the tranche of documents the court released after Daniel Perry's murder conviction were sexual communications he appeared to be exchanging with a minor," tweeted Dallas News' Lauren McGaughy.

The excerpt — from the full 75-page filing, hosted online by the Houston Chronicle — reveals a series of disturbing messages between Perry and contacts.

"Ok so im 16 ill be 17 in 3 months u sure u want me," one user wrote to Perry on Kik Messenger.
Perry apparently had to consider it.

"What state?" he asked. Adding later, "promise me no nudes until you are old enough to be of age."

In what may be the most overlooked part of Perry's humiliating exposure, the young girl actually appears put-off when Perry tells her to "come up with a reason I should be your boyfriend." When he then tries to elicit praise from her by asking "So why an old man like me?," the 16-year-old tosses back an impressively savage ego-torcher:

"Wym," [What do you mean?] she says. "I don't want u."

Perry's hunt for minors was also documented in his internet search records -- where "good chats to meet young girls" appeared alongside "attack on Jews in Texas."

Moar about the young girl search.

ABBOTT AIMS TO PARDON RACIST MURDERER WHO SENT EXPLICIT TEXTS TO APPARENT MINOR
The governor didn't even wait a single day before calling for the potential pardon of racist murderer Daniel Perry.

In the days following Abbott’s public pledge to pardon Perry, unsealed documents from the case, including Perry’s web searches and text messages, would reveal that he had made racist comments, previously considered killing people involved with racial justice protests, and most inconveniently for Republicans who have jumped on the “anti-groomer” bandwagon, had inappropriate text exchanges with an apparent 16-year-old girl after searching for “good chats to meet young girls.”

“Ok so im 16 ill be 17 in 3 months u sure u want me,” wrote a user on Kik Messenger, an instant messaging platform with a troubled history of child exploitation scandals. “What state…Also promise me no nudes until you are old enough to be of age,” Perry said later in the same chat. “I am going to bed come up with a reason why I should be your boyfriend before I wake up.”

Since the damning documents were released, Abbott has been quiet on social media, where he first made clear his support for a pardon. It’s uncertain if Abbott intends to follow through with his pledge in light of the evidence, or whether he will even have the chance: The governor of Texas doesn’t have the power to arbitrarily pardon someone like the president of the United States does, they can only pardon someone upon recommendation from the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles. And there’s a good reason for that.
