Conformed Signatures aka S-signatures aka Slash Mark Signatures

Here’s a fascinating piece of arcana, regulations from the Patent and Trademark Office concerning conformed signatures aka s-signatures aka slash mark signatures.

Long-time members will recall that Orly Taitz was mocked for her conformed signatures. Someone at old Fogbow coined an amusing phrase with accompanying ascii art; I forget exactly how it went, so I won't try to duplicate it.

However, as this chart shows, there is, as there should be, a good deal of flexibility with respect to what constitutes a valid conformed signature.

On a slightly related note for some of us IANALs, what is this - § - called and how is it pronounced?

That's the sign for "section." And most people call it ... the section sign. :smoking:

This article says its proper name is "silcrow," but I've never heard it called that.

Wasn't this Dr. Orly Taitz ESQ's specialty?

It isn't very nice that the tweet didn't give The Queen credit, SCOTUS must have taken their direction from her (or she inserted it when her forensic detectives were given full access to the full SCOTUS computer system).

Yes, and somebody came up with funny names, who ..., oh yes, did double duty as fake eyelashes. I'd be grateful if someone who actually remembers refreshed our recollection.

Of all the things lost in TFB 1.0, Verbie and Estiveo's comics are what I miss the most.
