One of these days towards the end of the month, the local weather reporters will start talking about the prediction. They seem to be wrong more than right these days.

I just saw one of those (well smaller cousin but still very large) go by on the back of a truck.

If it helps, here in WA State my horses have not grown thick coats at all. Still quite mild, actually. Wooly bears have had normal amounts of fur too.

It might help if your horses were in PA. :biggrin:

Bureau of Meteorology, Australia
@BOM_au
Yesterday's 16cm hail in Yalboroo, Queensland is a new Australian record. The previous record was 14cm, observed in south-east Qld last year. The atmosphere was extremely unstable, which allowed hail to continue growing before gravity forced it to the ground.

The Bay Area has been enjoying a lot of rain today. Almost 1½ inches where I'm at, with another inch or so possible by morning. High winds earlier, but those have died down.

After months of smoke and hot, dry weather, waking up to the sound of rain this morning was wonderful.

A Californian youtuber told his viewers to enjoy the calm and freshness between the fires and the predicted flush floods and mudslides....

It has been said that there are 6 seasons in California: Spring, Summer, Smoke, Shen Yun, Rain, and Mud Slide.

Every September or so, Shen Yun rolls into town and their commercials inundate the teevee machines for a month or two. It lasts forever because they usually play dates in San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose.

It's often accompanied by protest because Shen Yun is an arm of the Falun Gong cult.

How windy was it in the Bay Area yesterday? This clip from the Richmond-San Rafael bridge is a good illustration.

I’ve seen warnings to drivers of high-profile vehicles during high winds for this reason.

They close the Pontchartrain Causeway bridge to trucks of any kind for high wind warnings. If a truck gets blown over on that bridge, it winds up in the lake because the walls are only about 3' high.

I hate November.

All the leaves are dying. It's getting colder day by day. The nights are getting longer. I have to grow in my winter feathers.

I want my summer back. :(
