Due to Tropical Storm Nicholas, all Houston ports will be closed starting at 3pm today, Monday (9/13) and will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday (9/14). Airlines will also be closing between 12-2pm in preparation for the storm.

GAAA! I hope not. My friend is expected to depart at 2:22CDT, and so far it looks like it (and many after) are still scheduled to go..

The latest NHC forecast track moves the storm further to the east. On this track it will bring heavy rain to southern LA and MS after it leaves TX.

I don't recall Houston being this proactive in preparation for a big rain event.
