Of course, all my posts are protected by copyright, national security, international treaty, galactic statutory convectatories, and eleventy other laws that I don't have time to invent on this glorious February morn.

Don't make me work. :fingerwag:

It is the sacred number of Khorne, the chaos god of hatred, wrath and war in Warhammer... :shrug:

No, in fact, in early 2009 it was 7 that was the Fogbow Politijab magic number.

This community was formed by 8 people, but somebody miscounted and named us "the Significant Seven", and after a day or two when I counted correctly, we kept the Seven as a self-deprecating joke. We were going to bravely battle the birther millions, but we couldn't even count to 8. :doh:

And when we did jokes or misleading posts, we'd put a little tiny 7, shrunk down so you could barely see it, at the top left of the post, and that was our tipoff (to ourselves only) that the post was unpossible and hence, untrue and stuff.

Like, a birther quoted something I wrote on Politijab AND THEN LAUGHED AT ME, and I posted that it meant I had his IP address and could doxx the asshole for laughing at the poor ol' rooster who everybody loves to kick around whenever they're bored or having a bad day or something. And it scared Brian and Justin, the owners of Politijab, because I was claiming to have spooky magical internet powers that don't really exist, but hay - I put a little 7 in the post, and that fixed it right up. :biggrin:

I love happy endings! :crazy:

The Seven:

realist;
Princess Foofypants (RIP), but she was Marina Lincoln back then;
koyaan (a short version of koyaanisqatsi, a film from 1982), who sold high quality speaker wire in Sacramento;
Brian, employee of an ISP and an online poker player in Pittsburgh, and that's how he met
Justin, who was a low-level bank employee in Pittsburgh, but is now a high-level floor manager at a casino (poker been berra berra good to me);
Allison, an attorney in Noo Yawk City;
Foggy, some idiot in Raleigh, NC who is 69 and hasn't decided what he wants to be when he grows up;
rikker, a Linux admin from Florida (now Texas) who is a phenomenal genius.

Oh wait, is that seven? :doh:

:biggrin: This morning I weighed in at 161, or 11 stone 7 lbs., and I will shift to a maintenance diet. And continue workouts. :batting:

And I got a gift card for Chipotle that I've been saving. :biggrin:

Job done.

My lifetime high was 285. :eek:

Yeah well, thanks ... and I know you shouldn't celebrate losing weight by eating. :doh: :talktothehand:

But I make an exception for Chipotle. :biggrin:

OMG, I could eat dinners again. Or no, I don't want to put it all back on in 3 weeks.

So I highlighted my signature because that way it's visible on any board style, which is weird but whatevs. I am seriously loving Hexagon, except the smileys look ragged on the black background.

Anyone catch the "Scheduled Maintenance" thingy I put up 5 minutes before we went down for maintenance chores this morning? Was that a helpful thing or annoying?

It's always nice to see somebody "is working on it" ;)

rather than just a network timeout "the site cannot be reached" :(

Yes, true dat. And you're right, the message you saw if you were awake and on Fogbow at 6 a.m. Eastern on a Sunday morning, all you would see is "This board has been disabled" and whatever I chose to add to that, which is generally "I'm working on it" because most Sundays we're only offline for a few minutes while I do maintenance chores.

But part of maintenance is: 1) disable the board, and 2) "purge all sessions" which means, "kick everybody off the forum" and I suspect that can be a little jarring at 6 a.m. if you haven't had enough covfefe yet. Yeah, Eurobot, I know you're not on the East Coast of the US, but you know what I mean.

I can't have people logged in and trying to change the database by doing something stupid like posting normally, when I'm trying to defragment the database and it can't be touched during that time, so wait until I'm done and THEN put up your brilliant post.

The problem is, it's bad enough having to get up at 5:30 to be ready at 6:00, and if I have to give the Scheduled Maintenance warning it just means I have to get in front of the computer faster when I should be feeding cats and drinking covfefe, because Scheduled Maintenance doesn't set itself.

But yeah, a little warning is nice. I'll try to do that in the future. :thumbsup:

My dad is 94 years old today. We're gonna go up to Bathysphere or wherever it is in about 10 days, pamper him for a few days like we do.

He's Ukrainian. Well, this week he's been Ukrainian, anyway. Aren't we all? :biggrin:

He's sharp as broken glass, he follows everything going on in the world.

Previously, no male member of his family going back for generations ever lived to be 80. His older brother (my Uncle George, he's buried in Arlington) lived to be 80 and was very proud of the fact, but he died a few months later, back in 2005. And my dad has been, like, hold my beer.

In unrelated news gossip, I have two Twitter accounts, OK three:

@wlbryan - my main account
@The_Fogbow - I should use this one more, but at least it exists, and

@wlbryanjr - I used this one to insult and annoy right-wing pieholes, with lots of obscenities and unpleasantness. Did I mention that, despite recent events, I'm trying to be a nicer person? So a few days ago, I emptied this one. It went from hundreds of tweets to zero, just like that. I stopped following all the right-wing pieholes, too. I'm down to Angry_Staffer, and the Devin Nunes cow people. :biggrin:

But here's the thing, I just can't spend two hours a day, or even an hour, on Twitter every day. My life is bizzy.

I don't know what I'm gonna do with @wlbryanjr. I mean, I already have an account where I try to behave like a grownup. What would I do with two of those?

He hasn't joined, but he's always interested in Fogbow, I'll pass on birthday greetings.

Now here's a real Foogie never gets anythign striagth moment. The other day, I was changing the light bulb in the boy's bathroom, and I managed to drop and break the glass light fixture, BUT WAIT because that's not even the moment. So this morning Amazon brings my new light fixture, AND OL' WIFEHORN SAYS IT DOESN'T MATCH THE OTHER FIXTURES IN THE BATHROOM AND IT'S A REAL ESTATE THING, I GOT A FIXTURE THAT IS SO MODERN AND COOL I CAN'T INSTALL IT BECAUSE THE REST OF OUR HOUSE IS TWENTY YEARS OLD.

:doh: :shrug: :blackeye:

So whatever. I'll use it in the garage, i can always use more light in my workshop. :clap:

.
Edit: Yes, I could return it. But it's modern and cool ... 8-)

That is the oldest wife-trick in the world. Don't fall for it. Display your man card, draw upon your lawyer skills, and extol the beauty this magnificent lighting upgrade has brought to the bathroom.

Hey! Our house is 20 years old. It's called "eclectic" when you put in whatever the f*ck lighting you want. At least that's what Hubby says. :biggrin:

:P Just found an old cabaret record Foggy and I did way back when we first started our act. Remember this, Foggy? It's "Dearie". It was right after Bogie and Bacall did their ad for Chesterfields during the war:

Now it might sound like Larry Hagman's Mom, Mary Martin, and Bing Crosby, but that's just the great voices we did. Good times!
