It helped that it was not a slick operation. The seminar was in a nondescript office in a nondescript building, and the room was not all chrome and mirrors and the beautiful people. It was a work room, where people work. Massage tables, stuff like that. The dude had a kind of a early 21st century PowerPoint, but no animation, no heavy music, just here's what our theory is and here's what we do.

That's pretty much what I needed to see.

He was a likable guy, and he seemed excited to work on me. There were a few other Earthlings in the room, but my shoulders were the worst of the group. So I'm a challenge for him. But he said he got a 90 year old guy playing golf again, and I believe that story. So we'll see what he can do for me.

Total Motion Release

Total Motion Release (TMR) is an innovative, patient-centered approach to healing and relieving pain. It can help in treating a variety of musculoskeletal dysfunctions including weakness, pain, loss of motion in joints, and stiffness from the neck to the feet. The way TMR works is by releasing restrictions in the body that contribute to degenerative changes like arthritis, tendonitis, degenerative discs, muscle strains, and ligamentous sprains. The techniques utilized are very efficient and can have an immediate effect on pain complaints. TMR Technique takes a nontraditional but effective approach to Physical Therapy. It allows the body to naturally realign and heal, which proves to be more effective. The TMR Technique provides almost instant results and relief to your aches and pains. Total Motion Release is a biomechanical pain relief protocol that balances the asymmetries in the body.

What can I expect during a TMR treatment session?

The patient is evaluated for restrictions throughout the body that may be contributing to the dysfunction. The right and left sides of the body are evaluated for asymmetries and then balanced through specific movements. Many times people believe their pain originates locally which can be true. However, because of how the whole body is interconnected, restrictions away from the painful area can be contributing to the pain as well and in many instances are. Utilizing this whole-body approach the areas of restriction are released in a very comfortable manner. Although this technique requires great participation and effort by the patient, it should never be painful. This is what is beautiful and different about this technique compared to many other traditional physical therapy techniques. If pain is keeping you from enjoying life, Total Motion Release can be very effective in giving you control over your situation.

What makes Total Motion Release different?

It’s simply the focus on the good side of the body. When you have pain in your right shoulder it makes sense to treat the right shoulder, correct? Using total motion release, we make this statement incorrect. Instead of treating motions that cause pain in the aching right shoulder, TMR uses a little-known secret of treating pain-free motions in the left shoulder. This causes a re-aligning of both shoulders and alleviates your pain. The ”good” side is treated and followed by retesting of the “bad” side to determine how much asymmetry remains. The bad side then is scored in comparison to the good side by comparing the differences in pain, tightness, range of motion, strength, tension and quality of movement.

Thanks! And, yeah, they can do a lot with Zoom. My doctor's office uses it a lot for telehealth visits, though I've ended up just using the phone because I've not been able to get my camera to work :(

Yesterday I finally compiled a master list of all the email addresses I can remember having, some of which I actually use on a daily basis, but ...

There are 24 of them, but it's a nice mix:

4 Yahoo
8 Gmail
10 assigned to websites I run
2 awarded by institutes of higher yearning

... and I can sign into any of them. I could probably set them all up to forward to the next one, one by one, until all my emails did a complete circle and started around again. Y'know, like the old token ring network architecture. Yeah, that's the ticket!

I have spent all day with an aching hip. I’m really hoping I just spent too long with it right in the wrong place over that dried pea I keep under the mattress.

I’m too young and beautiful to have to start dealing with worn-out joints.

I set up 1 count 'em 1 (ONE) yahoo account lo! these many decades ago.

It took all of 20 minutes to be flooded (and by flooded, I mean completely 100% unusable) with porn site invitations.

I suppose that account might still be lurking in the depths of the Yahoo server farm, but I never touched it after that first day.
Has everybody heard about the bird?

Wow, I never get those. They must have heard about me. I set up all four Yahoo addresses in Thunderbird, and none of them get any mail at all anymore. One of them used to get mail from Tea Party groups that are long dead. Today if I want to test that the Yahoo addresses even work, I have to send them a test email myself, because nobody else cares. :crying:

I set up a Yahoo! address eons ago. It gets 1-5 spam a day. Yahoo! is bad because it doesn't filter spam well, so it ends up in the inbox mostly. I use it as a backup.

The great thing about Thunderbird is I can check all 24 email addresses in one app. And it's very good about detection and redirection of spam. I file anything I might find useful later, and it has an add-on called QuickFolders that makes it easy.

But the spam comes in waves. The wave of emails saying they took over the camera on my computer and got compromising video of me that will be sent to my friends and family if I don't pay some bitcoin seems to be over. I got a lot of those.

But the latest wave is Geek Squad.

I have received more than 35 emails lately, from a very wide range of sources, all informing me that they successfully charged my credit card $399 for Geek Squad. Thank you for your order! And if I have a problem with it, call this number (and we'll refund if you give us your credit card info ). As you can imagine, 35 times $399 is ... a lot of money. But I haven't found which credit card they're using, because all mine are paid off.

I wish they'd send the video they took of me to me. I want to see what I missed.

Yeah, my video would be really boring, because I keep the lid on the laptop down except during Meetups. I reckon the video is of my laptop keyboard, in the pitch dark, from 2 millimeters away. But I wouldn't inflict it on my fambly.

Who knows what kind of shenanigans your keyboard is getting up to in the pitch dark!

The cortisone shot I got in my left one about 3 weeks ago wore off about a week later. I never knew that radiation treatments could cause rotator cuff issues. I do now.

I got a valuable piece of advice from my massage therapist when I dislocated mine: if you can’t get joint pain relief from your doctor try a sports medicine doc.

She’d been a mortgage banker up til this and her experience made her change career.

Her shoulder started hurting and eventually she couldn’t raise it more than a couple of inches. For two year she did PT, cortisone injections, whatever her doc said, with no relief. Someone suggested she try another approach so sports medicine was the first one she looked into.

Doc said she had frozen shoulder from calcium deposits, he saw it all the time. He numbed her shoulder, took a big needle-thing and sucked the calcium crystals out. One follow up visit, she’s been pain free for 15 years.

ETA Doesn’t this seemlike the kind of thing any doctor should know?

Ol' Wifehorn decided to get our Tee Vee from Spectrum. Two guys showed up this morning to dig in the cable.

Me: "Please, for god's sake, do NOT cut the fiber optic cable from AT&T. We're running a business here and we need internet. Do NOT NOT NOT cut the fiber optic cable."

They cut the fiber optic cable, and I am on phone only until I set it to be a wifi hotspot, and Spectrum is a asshole.
