Ted says when he met with SCOTUS nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson in his office, he immediately became “highly suspect” of her because she turned down his offer of Cuban coffee.

Well fuck you Ted, I'm highly suspect of anyone who comes in my office and turns down my offer of Columbian Sinsemilla.

Can't tell if that is real or not, but it DOES fit in with what Felito would consider a real knee-slapper of a joke.

Just brings it home after visiting relatives in Canada*.

*Or Cancun, as the case may be.

Along with a case of cigars immabettin.

I had to look it up because the back of my head said Cafe Cubana is a thing. It is. It's sweetened bitter espresso. Done right, it is reportedly genius. Done wrong is easy to achieve.

And had the SCOTUS candidate accepted the coffee offer he would now claim she be a commie intending to overthrow the nation

Having any Cuban cigars is a bad thing, legally. You can't go to the UK and bring home a box for personal use like you can some things you can't buy here.

So, for those who missed it, this happened:

https://twitter.com/tedcruz/status/1504568406934237190

For those who can't see it for some reason: Ted flipped out about the stunt cameo casting in the finale of this season's Star Trek: Discovery. Disclaimer: I am one of the older school of Trekkies that has not been fond of the post-DS9 properties (though Picard, I hear, is good, I'm not shelling out for Paramount+ for it). But I will likely watch the current Discovery season just to enjoy this moment that set Ted a'baffled.

It is hilarious how people like Cruz are triggered by fictional powerful Black women.

It is less hilarious when they are triggered by actual powerful Black women. "Suddenly," it is "Where's the LSAT score?" and "not a natural born citizen."

Yeah, I thought I'd mentioned that in my original post, but it was just my way of expressing appreciation for the worth of that moment. Because this means either a) Ted Cruz watches Discovery and had a full meltdown watching this scene, or b) someone told him about that moment and he went back and looked for it in crazed disbelief.

Amusingly, with respect to the intersection of Ted Cruz and Star Trek, I did about this time 6 years ago (it came up recently in a Facebook memory) propose that our greatest hope to defeat Trump was a transporter accident which fused two of his opponents to create Senator Marfael 'Little Ted' Rubuz. I am pretty sure I threw in a </s> tag somewhere. But.

Now I look back and realize it would simply have meant twice the obsequiousness to Trump in one body. So.

SE Cupp on CNN had a good op-ed piece today regarding the televising of public events like SCOTUS hearings and legislative sessions.

If the above story is true, and I believe that it is, then her reasoning is spot on.

The Pope and Ted Cruz are on the same stage in front of a huge crowd.

The Pope leans towards Cruz and says, "Do you know that with one wave of my hand I can make every person in this crowd go wild with joy? This joy will go deep into their hearts and they'll forever speak of this day and rejoice!"

Cruz replies, "I seriously doubt that. Show me!"

So the Pope faces the crowd, spends a moment in prayer, and backhands Cruz.

Ted Cruz's daughters attend a private school that's "antiracist."

The values that Cruz attacked during Judge Jackson's confirmation hearing are the same values his daughters are being taught.

It is a good read!
