Disclaimer: I am one of the older school of Trekkies that has not been fond of the post-DS9 properties (though Picard, I hear, is good, I'm not shelling out for Paramount+ for it). But I will likely watch the current Discovery season just to enjoy this moment that set Ted a'baffled.

People were praising her performance. While it wasn't the worst Star Trek has ever seen, I wouldn't call it good.

It is hilarious how people like Cruz are triggered by fictional powerful Black women.

It is less hilarious when they are triggered by actual powerful Black women. "Suddenly," it is "Where's the LSAT score?" and "not a natural born citizen."

Yeah, I thought I'd mentioned that in my original post, but it was just my way of expressing appreciation for the worth of that moment. Because this means either a) Ted Cruz watches Discovery and had a full meltdown watching this scene, or b) someone told him about that moment and he went back and looked for it in crazed disbelief.
