QAnon Already Has 19 Candidates Running for Congress in 2022
As the GOP becomes more receptive to the conspiracy theory, more of the cult’s followers are running for office.

With 18 months to go before the 2022 midterms, QAnon supporters are already seizing on the GOP’s embrace of the conspiracy theory and throwing their hats in the ring for a seat in Congress.

So far, 19 people who have publicly shown support for the QAnon conspiracy theory have declared their intention to run in House and Senate races across the country, according to an investigation by Media Matters for America (MMFA).

With apologies

The Lunatics (Have Taken Over the Asylum)
Fun Boy Three

I see a clinic full of <cynics> Qnutz
Who want to twist the peoples' wrist
They're watching every move we make
We're all included on the list

The lunatics have taken over the asylum
The lunatics have taken over the asylum

No nuclear the cowboy told us
And who am i to disagree
'Cos when the madman flips the switch
The nuclear will go for me

The lunatics have taken over the asylum
The lunatics have taken over the asylum

I've seen the faces of starvation
But i just can not see the points
'Cos there's so much food here today
That no one wants to take away

The lunatics have taken over the asylum
The lunatics have taken over the asylum
The lunatics have taken over the asylum
Take away my right to choose
The lunatics have taken over the asylum
Take away my point of view
The lunatics have taken over the asylum
The lunatics have taken over the asylum
Take away my dignity,
Take these things away from me
The lunatics have taken over the asylum
The lunatics have taken over the asylum
Take away my family,
Take away the right to speak
The lunatics have taken over the asylum
Take away my point of view,
Take away my right to choose

And I suppose in this metaphor that the Republican party is the Asylum? Not sure how I feel about that. Someone done broke down the Asylum walls and released the Q-crazies on society.

When I worked for Compaq (in the year between the collapse of DEC and my return to sanity) we were issued lapel pins with the Compaq 'Q' logo. I'm not sure if I still have mine.

I worked for a company called MicroComputer Accessories. They made a sliding keyboard drawer, 8” floppy disc drive covers, and many more things. At first, they advertised in PC mags and manufactured the items when they had enough orders. Within a year, they were grossing $5m annually.

The computer they gave me to do work over the weekends was a Compaq portable  it was the size of a suitcase but the heaviest suitcase you’ve ever carried, like filled with 5lb weights. I had to put it down and get a new grip several times between my car and front door.

ETA My boss was good friends with Peter Bergman of Firesign. Once he found out I was a fan from way back (my first Firesign LP was Waiting for the Electrician) he would adopt funny voices when he called.
