Without going into details, I’m stuck waiting in a business with Fox News on. They’re trying to start a civil war. The words spewing from theirs mouths make Empty Gee look like a Girl Scout.

It's about Hanukkah.
Huh? A xmas tree is about "Hanukkah"? (which, btw, ended on the 6th) for the non-Jews in the audience.
Well, I don't know about that. My grandkids get to choose the colors of my tree each year. Last year, they chose silver and blue for the colors. I called it my Hanukkah tree. Does that count?
I say you can do whatever you want to celebrate the holidays. It just pisses me off when they try to wrap Christianity (Xmas) with Judaism (Hanukkah). If you have done both celebrations, you know they are completely different -- but equally respectful.

It's always an attack on urban areas. Last week 2 homes were set ablaze in a resort community in the Tip of the Mitt (far northern MI) on successive nights. The alleged arsonist was 12 years old. Both homes burned to the ground. Arson is a crime, it is always wrong.

I didn't miss your point, and I totally agree.

Personally, I mostly think of the pagan connections when someone goes off about Christ being all about Christmas. It's historically unlikely he was born in December and the early Church often appropriated pagan traditions to make conversions easier to sell.

It's a lot easier to put a "Under new Management" sign on the temple, than it is to tear it down and build a new one

I should have made myself clear, despite some :sarcasm: over it being Fox, arson is wrong and a crime. Imagine if the fire had spread further.

A 49-year-old man who police said was homeless was arrested on charges including criminal mischief, arson and trespassing. It wasn’t clear if he had an attorney who could comment on the charges.

Police said the man had a lighter, but it was unclear whether any accelerant was used.

The tree had been ceremonially lit during a network Christmas special on Sunday. Its charred remains were being dismantled Wednesday.

Yes, suspect is a homeless man. Probably not far fetched to think possible mental health and/ or drug issues. At first blush, not the libruhl mob going after poor Fox.

I have seen too many folks on twitter making light of it (no pun intended). The stupid statements on Fox are worthy of mockery but the crime is not, so that’s where I was going.

Homelessness in blue cities is a direct effect of libruhl policies, therefore libruhlism is the cause of the fire QED.

Tree? Iron from China, perhaps. And all those twigs must have been dry by the time they got attached to the structure. No accelerant required.

Maybe the burner was mad they tore his tent down to put up a much bigger tent that is unlivable because it doesnt block wind and it's a fire hazard. He just showed them the error.

Yeah, that "tree" must have burned like a torch. Makes sense, a faux tree for Faux News. (Doesn't Rockefeller Center use a real tree?)

Funny how they all three dress as if they are at a night-club instead of a serious news program. LOL Love the stilettos as well as the crossed legs to hide their junk. But, I guess it all gets ratings.. :P :P

Yes, they do. This year's tree is from Elkton, MD.

I am probably one of the few people here who knew exactly what you were referring without having to define it.

I may have recognized it if you just said: "in Bay View". I was there once on an organ crawl in Petoskey (and drove by it when headed to something in town or further north).

I've never heard of an "organ crawl" before. It sounds rather debauched, though I can't begin to guess whether the debauchery is principally due to alcohol or carnal pursuits. Not the sort of thing that I would expect from a bunch of ecclesiastical musicians.
