When Donald Trump seemed to waver in late 2018 on nominating William P. Barr to be his attorney general, Barr had a private conversation with the president and told a story from his college days.

One day while playing flag football near Columbia University, an opposing player threw sand in Barr’s eyes, and the two had to be separated. Barr waited two hours to get even, and as the teams returned to campus, “I walked over to my assailant and laid him out — stupefied on the pavement — with a bloody nose.”

It’s a rare job interview in which the applicant tells a story about cold-cocking someone and still gets the job, but Barr did. Trump liked the story, Barr recounts in his autobiography, “One Damn Thing After Another: Memoirs of an Attorney General.”

Happened, didn't happen, meh.

The important thing is, it was something Trump wishes he had done. So he thinks that makes Barr tough.

Concur: The point wasn't whether Barr actually assaulted someone; Barr was attempting to show his future boss that he'd punch back and fight dirty, which is exactly what his future boss wanted, especially after Sessions had let him down.

I dunno. Talking about what a lying shitshow trump was in regards to "voter fraud" then confirming he'd vote for him again sounds...about right.

Barr tonight: “He was livid and shaking, showed a lot of temper and yelling .. He started talking about he won the election, the machines are rigged and he was going to be there another term. This showed a detachment from reality that was stunning to me.”

Tapper: Do you bear any responsibility for all the people who thought there was going to be widespread voter fraud given the fact you were sounding the alarm based on theories and bad information?
Barr: Not at all and I stand by all of that…
Still waiting to see if he'll go on Deadline White House and face the same treatment Chris Christie got...

There are some unhealthy relationships between the "author" reps and the booking agents for these shows. Surely there are enough people out there making actual news they could bring on these shows.
