In this episode, Boebert suggests that Jesus would have armed himself with AR-15s to "keep his government from killing him."

Considering that the actual Jesus healed the ear of a man who was arresting him, an ear that was chopped off by a sword used by one of his Disciples, I'm starting to suspect that the good Lady Boebert hasn't cracked open an actual Bible in years.

And neither has her audience if they were nodding their heads to that crap.

FFS. How to show you no nothing of Scripture which you claim to follow and you don't even care what it says.
Matthew 26:47-56 (NIV) wrote:47 While he was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, arrived. With him was a large crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests and the elders of the people. 48 Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them: “The one I kiss is the man; arrest him.” 49 Going at once to Jesus, Judas said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed him.

50 Jesus replied, “Do what you came for, friend.”[d]

Then the men stepped forward, seized Jesus and arrested him. 51 With that, one of Jesus’ companions reached for his sword, drew it out and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.

52 “Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword. 53 Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels? 54 But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen in this way?”

55 In that hour Jesus said to the crowd, “Am I leading a rebellion, that you have come out with swords and clubs to capture me? Every day I sat in the temple courts teaching, and you did not arrest me. 56 But this has all taken place that the writings of the prophets might be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples deserted him and fled.
For completeness, the healing of the ear mousey mentioned is in Luke 22's version:
Luke 22:49-51 (NKJV) wrote:49 When those around Him saw what was going to happen, they said to Him, “Lord, shall we strike with the sword?” 50 And one of them struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his right ear.

51 But Jesus answered and said, “Permit even this.” And He touched his ear and healed him.

Lauren Boebert was a paid escort for Koch, possibly hooked up with Ted Cruz, and had two abortions?? I take it she doesn’t use condoms. Who is leaking all the dirt on Boebert? What did she do to piss off the GOP?

I thought that the story about all the RWNJ republicans having worked for a modelling agency that was a cover for prostitution has been thoroughly debunked, even here on The Fogbow.

It makes a nice story, and a part of me would like to believe it, but the rational part of me doesn't.

I shared the story this morning via a private ongoing FB Messenger chat with two friends. One of them I had mentioned in another thread, was an old roommate who is a recovering Dittohead and Evangelical, now more like me in a kind of left-leaning intellectual libertarianism that scorns these crazed ignoramuses. He's also an NC resident and followed the earlier broadside against Cawthorn, so when I told him these were the same guys he devoured it. He and the other friend involved literally spent most of the day while I was at work reading through all of the twitter threads spawned by this, comparing notes, and discussing. It's taken up HOURS of their time.

So even if false, this has provided three friends of more than 30 years (the other guy is literally the reason I am not a drinker, since I took part in his master's thesis research which involved getting horribly plastered to the point of alcohol overdose in order to test the effects of alcohol on speech; even under a doctor's supervision that was required, I was sick for days afterward and now I limit myself to two or three drinks a week) a great day's ride. So I can honestly say I got more than my money's worth on this one.

Last I saw, it looked like a handful were clients of the agency, but the 'cover for prostitution' was mostly speculation. But I fully admit that keeping track of all these stories gets overwhelming and thus I am never sure what the status of things are at any given time.

There’s nothing rational about republicans any more. Five years ago I would have said our Republic was strong, no worries about a Twittler on the march. Now that’s all I can think about.

I’m not having any trouble believing this about Boebert, given what I already know of her character. Or what they unearthed about Cawthorne.

Sometimes trash takes itself out.

I'm with you, but the difference is that the present issues are things that make people like us dislike her, this speculation would likely affect the opinions of the people that are actually voting for her.

Mebbe.

There's apparently an article on daliybeast.com asserting that the latest Boebert revelations are false, but it is paywalled. FYI.

Lauren Boebert taking legal action over Dem PAC's 'false and disgusting claims' that she was 'paid escort'
Boebert's attorney says he has 'irrefutable evidence that each one of these statements is patently false'

Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., will take legal action against the Democrat political action committee (PAC) that claimed, without evidence, that she was an "unlicensed paid escort," Fox News Digital has learned.

Boebert's attorney sent a letter to the American Muckrakers PAC regarding the claims that she was an "unlicensed paid escort" who had "two abortions," pledging to bring "civil defamation" lawsuits against the PAC.

"Partisan organizations putting out blatantly false and disgusting accusations won’t stop me from advancing freedom and conservative values," Boebert told Fox News Digital in a Wednesday statement. "This group's vile conduct demonstrates why people are fed up with politics. I am not going to stand by and pretend this is normal behavior."

"This political committee, funded by far-left Democrat donors and run by two left-wing political operatives, published pages of false statements knowing they were completely fabricated," she continued. "The law on this type of defamation is clear and this conduct will be subject to civil and criminal penalties. Attached is a letter from my attorney introducing our response to these lies."

Alas, Fox did not provide a link to the letter. Or if they did, I missed it.
