Word is that while the remaining votes are from Dem areas, they are disproportionately Election Day votes, so Boebert still has a slim chance. Dunno if that is true, saw it on the bird site.

Boebert is an incumbent in an R+6, pro-gun, white, rural district where fossil fuels are a huge part of the economy. If she was just semi-competent she would win this by 8-9 points minimum.

Bobo down 64 votes with 99% counted.

Leads me to believe that all that is left is mail ins not counted and provisional. Is Colorado an all mail in state?

At that margin they are going to have to do a recount anyway. No question.

Yea, but recounts very rarely find more than a handful difference, machines are pretty accurate and a few dozen would be a lot. Most recounts that have changes in the results are from votes not counted by the machine. Plus, a recount, if it changes the total, can go either way.
The most memorable recount was in Florida in 2000, in the race between George W. Bush and Al Gore. That recount shifted the margin by 1,247 votes. It was a significant shift in a race decided by just 537 votes, but it was still not enough to flip the outcome.
But I would add that the Florida recount was done on millions of votes in 67 different counties with different rules and systems and whatnot in each one, back when hanging chads were a thing. This election is only`300,000 votes and all machine counted. I doubt it would change even so close a count.

Boebert was expected to easily roll over Frisch, but at 7:57 p.m. on Wednesday, Frisch, a former Aspen city councilman, was leading the controversial congresswoman by just 64 votes. Frisch had 50.01% of the vote compared to Boebert’s 49.99%.

It was unclear how many more votes were left to count in the 3rd District, which spans the Western Slope and stretches into Pueblo and southeast Colorado. Some Republicans were waiting until the last minute to cast their votes at the recommendation of election conspiracy theorists who said they wanted to prevent tampering with machine counts of ballots.

99% reporting. This will be an automatic recount. But the funny thing is this should have never been close. The national democrats offered no support to Frisch and it was assumed it would be a blow out. This is a +9 red district that was made stronger republican during the redistricting. All the major polling showed this as a strong republican seat.

I don't think this race gets settled today. They are gonna have to count every single vote and also give 500-1000 voters a chance to fix their rejected ballots. Then a mandatory recount.

There's another batch from Pueblo coming tonight, it sounds like it will close the gap (or the total ballots is less than the current margin), but will take some time to count the rest.

Eta: still about a 1100 margin after Pueblo numbers. But somewhat more than that remaining to be counted. Plus 500 military ballots and around 1000 that were rejected and could be fixed before Wednesday.

I'm going to be the bummer here and assume Boebert will pull it off. Hey wait! Does that mean one of those suitcase-filled, late vote dumps put her ahead?
