My DIL's grandpa has been in the hospital with COVID since Thanksgiving. The medical team does not think he will make it. The family *thinks* he got exposed while waiting at the VA for a booster shot. That strikes us as odd, since boosters were plentiful and available In Michigan in October. We have friends who got theirs (under 65) in September. Idk why you'd go to the VA. Regardless, supporting the family and sad for grandma.

I'm sorry for him and the family.

I think it can be very difficult to pinpoint where someone was exposed. My friend who came down with it in August has never had even the slightest hint of where she could have caught it. She's been about as careful as anyone could be as she's highly immunocompromised.

My dad will only go the VA. He has to plan a week ahead to go anywhere, and passes half a dozen or more Walgreen's and CVS on the way, but it's how he does things. I think there are a lot of old people like that.

It may have been a fatal decision. Idk if I completely understand how they are pinpointing the VA as the source of infection but now is not the time to ask questions.

Did I mention my current roomie is unvaxxed? She won’t fucking stop talking on her phone, to visiting friend -how the fuck does that happen? No one else can have visitors.

I’m ready to ask for a new room. :thor:

It's too bad they can't keep unvaxxed with unvaxxed and vaxxed with vaxxed. It seems unfair to put you at more risk with a person who is unvaccinated and yakking up a storm, spewing her cooties all over the room.

:lovestruck: :bighug: Dear Kate's blood - please behave so Kate can go home!!

That's bullshit. You SHOULD ask for a new room. RVInit is right - vaxxed should be with vaxxed and unvaxxed with unvaxxed. Seems the fairest way to assign rooms.

If she's too stupid to be vaxxed and you're in with covid, I bet if you went over to her bed and coughed all over her they'd move one of you to another. room

Still here, still annoyed. No rooms to move to, it’s filling up again. Turns out her visitor is daughter who works here. They tried to give me her daughter this morning…ohhay you have a visitor … but I declined. Daughter looks older than Ma.

Im dreaming of burritos. Speaking of weird dreams, last week I dreamed I walked into a room to find four women friends chatting. A minute later zeke showed up with pizza for everyone.
