Hey guys. I've started this a few times and really not sure what to say

Basically I've been having a pretty rough few months. I've been in constant pain with a septic tooth, that weeks ago was extracted in the worst extraction Ive had in my life. I was on antibiotics for a month after, when the socket infected again. Doctors prescribed me medication that had horrible side effects that included sores, pains all over, lack of energy, disorientation, and a massive spike in my anxiety. And tonight I feel as though my body has had enough as my hips are aching and my body feels like it's red raw.

I've been better.

Add to that the usual isolation of the pandemic and my mental health is completely frazzled. I've been having very dark thoughts sometimes.

So ya just wanted to share a bit of whats been going on with me. Hope everyone is doing better at least.

I know someone who has been having the same type of problems with an ex-tooth over roughly the same time scale - thought they were having a rough time but they are comparatively very lucky. You really are going through it. My totally unhelpful but sincere sympathy.

I'm so sorry. I was just in to the dental surgeon today for a broken tooth. It broke over time, now is only below the gum line. He gave me the choice of digging it out today with Novocaine or coming back to have it done under anesthesia. I opted for the latter, thinking I'd regret it later in the day. It's later in the day, and I'm not regretting it. I have to wait now until July to get it out. I can really empathize with the dental problems, but wish you the best on the rest of it. I can see how that would really drag you down. :bighug:

Basically the guy had to use 7 vials of anesthetic trying to numb me down, the maximum he could administer, and finally gave me the choice of going away and going antibiotics, or drilling through the existing filling and injecting directly into the nerve. So option B was the way we went and it was as painful as it sounds, and he had to inject right down into the root to get to all the infection

The other problem is my teeth have very deep roots, and he said it was the biggest tooth he had ever seen. He had to cut the tooth in half to get it out. The roots were over an inch long, and half a centimeter wide. I should have taken a photo.

I can still feel the pain of them deep down in my jaw. The tooth was so bad that if I touched it with my tongue it hurt. The problem is that the pain was traveling around my Jaw and my sinuses for months, so I didn't know what the hell was going on till it had gotten so bad it needed an extraction specialist to go near it.

Rough.

I am sending many pain relieving vibes to you. I hope they work. Having that kind of lengthy infection could cause anyone to feel depressed, much less someone with anxiety issues already. Please hang in there. :bighug:

Oy! brother.

I'm not going challenge you on what you are going through with my own problems. But you do have universal care in Ireland -- be thankful for that. We don't have that here.

I hope you feel better soon!

Now that the dental issues are on their way to resolution, please pay attention to getting help for the dark thoughts. I have been struggling badly at various points in the COVID epidemic, even though my circumstances are really good -- a wonderful relationship, a great job, material fulfillment, etc. But I have been visited by dark thoughts as well. It seems to be getting worse for a lot of people now that we are heading towards resolving most of the pandemic and life can return to some sort of normal. You're not alone.

Hey. Update time.

I'm having an operation on my face tomorrow. There is a benign tumour growing out from the side of my face, kind of down from under my Ear to the side of mi chin, and the Doctors say it should be removed. It's getting rather obvious at this point, and while I've felt a lot of pressure from it or a while, it has recently started to hurt. There has been a lot of stuff happening with weddings and so on, so this crept up on me. To say I'm freaking out is an understatement.

Because the tumour is wrapped around the nerve that controls the side of my face, they are going to have to put me out to do the operation. So Ill be heading up to Dublin very early tomorrow morning and hopping on a taxi to get there. It's the Beacon hospital, which is apparently a really high class place, and the Doctor is a Neville Shine. My sister (a Nurse) says he is a bit of a jackass but he is good, so I'm in good hands.

So, I'll probably post a few photos in the next few days for people to go "ooh aah" at. It will be nice to have it over me but I dont think I will sleep tonight. :)
