Gods punishment for liars is that they start to believe their own lies.

https://biblehub.com/bsb/2_thessalonians/2.htm
2 Thessalonians 2 9 The coming of the lawless one will be accompanied by the working of Satan, with every kind of power, sign, and false wonder, 10 and with every wicked deception directed against those who are perishing, because they refused the love of the truth that would have saved them. 11 For this reason God will send them a powerful delusion so that they believe the lie, 12 in order that judgment may come upon all who have disbelieved the truth and delighted in wickedness.

If I were constitutionally capable, I’d ignore all these seditious dingbats, like all the other low information voters do. I’d probably be happier. If I pretend I’m being interviewed by a man-on-the-street reporter and he asks what I think of Tuckerfucker’s latest, I would yawn and say “Who? Oh, that guy. Is he still spewing his propaganda BS? People actually listen to him? His company is banned in much of the civilized world (UK, Oz, other places I would hope). Why haven’t we, yet?”

But I’m incapable of that. I tried ignoring all but the local stuff, I think I lasted a week. Could you?

It would seem we’re in the middle of an attitudinal shift, and it scares the crap out of me. People want easy answers to the problems we’ve been sweeping under our collective rugs for a hundred years. They seem willing to let someone else worry about it so they can keep on shopping and the Thugs are more than willing to serve. Yesterday I read that Democrats in Pennsyltucky are taking down yard signs, scrubbing off bumper stickers and tossing their T-shirts because of neighbor backlash.

I’m very ostrich-like, I guess. What have Dems done to deserve this animosity? I kn0w what the Thugs have done - restructured the tax code to benefit only them while telling their constituents the opposite; played all the tricks to swing the benefit around to them, no matter the game; taken thre only health care millions of people will ever have down to bare bones, and threaten to yank the rest; lied and lied and lied.

Have the voters not noticed the lies? Have they not noticed that nothing much has changed with Dem values except now the Thugs label them as Communist or Socialist values? Same values we’ve held all along, where the fuck have you been?
Pay attention, even a little bit.

There is a case I can make that NO ONE should believe a Thug ever again, but y’all know all those words, all those arguments. So I won’t. I’ll just think them, and you can nod your heads.

Unfortunately, the Democrats that don't watch MSNBC are probably watching CNN. I have been disappointed in their constantly telling their audience that not only is the economy awful, huge inflation, but telling their audience that everyone is blaming Biden for it. People don't like to be "different". If they hear that everyone else is blaming Biden they think that's who they need to blame.

I don't think I've heard CNN once point out that many companies are not raising prices (inflation) because they HAVE to raise prices. Many of them are doing it for the same reason they refused to hire workers back during Obama's first term. Let's face it. Large corporations prefer Republicans to be in charge because Republicans will pass big tax cuts for them, and Republicans will pass legislation that makes it harder for them to be sued for product liability. And we could go on and on about why corporations prefer Republicans. CNN is not telling their audience that at the same time companies are hiking up prices, many of them are enjoying record profits and giving CEOs 40% raises. So, they aren't raising prices because they have to raise prices to break even or make the same profit they made in the past. All of this contributes to the perception that Democrats are bad for the economy. And, Republicans are also undermining Biden's ability to put the pandemic behind us. It's deliberate and the only thing we can do about it is to put the truth in front of them, over and over and over. And call out the lies over and over and over. Democrats need to find a way to put this in front of people where they live, where they can see it over and over. And it has to be sound bites. Preaching doesn't work.

We have much to learn from the right wing propaganda machine as far as technique goes. I'm not saying copy their propensity for gaslighting and lies, but they know how to put out effective 5 word "headlines" that WORK. We need to learn to do the same.
There's a lot of things that need to change. One specifically? Police brutality.

Remember back in 2014 when Democrats were riding high in opinion Polls? Then remember when they crashed through the floor> The reason is the majority of Democratic Candidates refused to say they supported Obamacare, becasue the Media and Social Media had convinced them that Obamacare was really unpopular and they had to distance themselves from it.

Result; people turned off them instantly. Those who came out and proud in support of the ACA did well, but the Dems got creamed.

Same after the first debate with Romney. I thought it was more or less a draw with Obama looking very tired, but people here suddenly came out that Obama Had gotten hammered, becasue all the Media including Rachel Maddow had pushed the line that Obama had gotten a hammering. Of course that rebounded as well, with the Romster swaggering into the Town Hall debate thinking he was on fire, and then got the "binders full of women," "please proceed Governor," and "those words were spoken" that it is remembered for.

Fact is, Dems are surrounded by a media that defaults to everything Dem "is going badly" and "unpopular." Even the so called left wingers toe the line when told to. Hell, Trump's campaign adviser Joe Scarborough has just gotten a fourth hour on so called left wing MSNBC.

So Dems default to a certain timidity as they feel under attack all the time, and told that their policies are unpopular. That's not true, but if you are told it all the time you will believe it.

I never listened to THAT Rush. I loved it when the other Rush asked the idiot Rush to stop using their music for intros and outros on his shows, which I guess he did from time to time. They weren't happy about it.

You’re right, Suranis, as usual. My dad was a reporter, old school. He often talked about journalistic ethics and the importance of a free press. Not so many share his view these days. Especially people who operate in secret.

He was sure that the profession of journalism itself would prevent what’s happened now - ownership of media by the secretive people. He was a bit of a Pollyanna and I seem to have inherited his rose colored glasses.

That Romney/Obama debate was the first time a mainstream politician had used Fox bullshit, made-up “news” to go after an opponent in a debate, I think. I gasped when he used Fox talking points word-for-word. It’s only gotten worse.

Apparently this is all Joe Biden's fault, according to Tucker Carlson.

Thanks, John! Didn't know Louis Black had a podcast, will listen to that later.

The worst part of Swanson McNear is that he KNOWS it's all bullsh*t, he's been pumping disinformation all the way back to Crossfire. He's an entertainer. But while he makes a fortune doing it, weak-minded viewers think he's being truthful. A while back, we did an experiment... for a full day, we only accessed right-wing media. Hannity, Mark Levin & El Rushbo on AM radio, only RWNJ sites like Breitbart & Infowars, and only teevee like OAN & Newsmax. By the end of the day we were exhausted, angry, frustrated and reprogrammed. Repetition is overwhelmingly used, it's like talking points were distributed so everybody was covering the same stuff. We were sure we needed to buy gold and colloidal silver, that Hillary Clinton would be arrested any minute, and that the most important story was how evil Democrats were. Imagine hearing that 10-12 hours a day, 7 days a week, and it gets clearly why the echo chamber is so dangerous.

Just want to say thanks again to folks who recommended birthdays, sun signs and Chinese horoscope years. Fogbow is an amazing information source, I'm constantly blown away by the skills and experience of our members as well as the detective skills and breadth of knowledge. Seeing Tucker Carlson...Cock is amusing and who knows when one of us will be on JEOPARDY! and need to know Tucker is a Taurus? Foggy gets a cut of any winnings.

On March 3, as Russian military forces bombed Ukrainian cities as part of Vladimir Putin’s illegal invasion of his neighbor, the Kremlin sent out talking points to state-friendly media outlets with a request: Use more Tucker Carlson.

“It is essential to use as much as possible fragments of broadcasts of the popular Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who sharply criticizes the actions of the United States [and] NATO, their negative role in unleashing the conflict in Ukraine, [and] the defiantly provocative behavior from the leadership of the Western countries and NATO towards the Russian Federation and towards President Putin, personally,” advises the 12-page document written in Russian. It sums up Carlson’s position: “Russia is only protecting its interests and security.” The memo includes a quote from Carlson: “And how would the US behave if such a situation developed in neighboring Mexico or Canada?”

The document—titled “For Media and Commentators (recommendations for coverage of events as of 03.03)”—was produced, according to its metadata, at a Russian government agency called the Department of Information and Telecommunications Support, which is part of the Russian security apparatus. It was provided to Mother Jones by a contributor to a national Russian media outlet who asked not to be identified. The source said memos like this one have been regularly sent by Putin’s administration to media organizations during the war. Independent media outlets in Russia have been forced to shut down since the start of the conflict.
