Today, in what can only be described as a bogus and deeply troubling effort to use the power of government to “get” Trump, I fulfilled a legal obligation to testify in front a federal grand jury and I answered every question honestly.

America has become a sick and broken nation—a decline led by Joe Biden and power hungry Democrats. I will not be intimidated by this weaponization of government. For me, the need to unite our nation and make America great again has never been more clear than it is today.

That starts with re-electing President Donald J. Trump, a purpose I will not be deterred from pursuing.

Trump believed that running for president would bestow some kind of immunity on him - that prosecutors would be so intimidated by the politics and historical gravity of it that they would be forced to ignore his crimes. If the institutions don’t hold now, he will destroy them.

Why does anyone say HAPPY Memorial Day?

Only people that don't understand the meaning of the day say it. That said, though it is supposed to be a solemn day, it has become the defacto beginning of the American Summer Vacation season. People get pretty jazzed about it while entirely forgetting about the day itself. The reason for the holiday has become lost in the American memory.

Re Happy Memorial Day!: despite being a lifelong agnostic/atheist (but brought up in a Christan family) I used to cringe at Happy Easter! greetings because the Christian narrative is very solemn. But then I realized that Easter also a pagan celebration of spring, definitely a happy event. And that Easter is also tagged onto Passover – hence Paschal/Påske/Pasque in Eurolanguages – which is also a celebratory.

Best not to get stressed when others don't feel the same significance in a day that your group has designated as solemn or meaningful, whether their ignorance, apathy or distaste. Only expect tolerance and no disruption.

However one can reasonably expect a senior politician or ex-president to understand and respect these parts of the nation's fabric. Trump has no clue.

WASHINGTON, June 9 (Reuters) - Two lawyers representing former U.S. President Donald Trump, who was federally indicted for illegally retaining classified documents, obstruction and other crimes, have resigned, according to a statement released Friday.

"This morning we tendered our resignations as counsel to President Trump, and we will no longer represent him on either the indicted case or the January 6 investigation," according to the joint statement from Jim Trusty and John Rowley.
