I'd have to see the rest of the video, but I suspect he was getting ready to tell everyone to vote blue, not matter who!

No?

Street preachers and Christian protesters have long been a fixture of Earth-based religions’ gatherings as they try to distract and deter people from enjoying what are typically outdoor festivals and ritual gatherings. But this year, some attendees say, these opponents of witchcraft and paganism have become more aggressive and even dangerous.

“There were about 30 [evangelists] this year,” said Starr RavenHawk, an elder and priestess of the New York City Wiccan Family Temple and organizer of WitchsFest USA, a street fair held in the city’s West Village in mid-July.

Over the past seven years, barely a half dozen of these disrupters would show up, RavenHawk said. But the groups that have appeared this year “aren’t just protesting,” she added. “They are collectively at war with us. They made that clear.”

Damn. That really sucks. It can be hard enough for Pagan groups to put on their festivals, but getting harassed by more aggressive evangelicals is just bullshit. AFAIK, Pagans don't try to disrupt their rallies, revivals and other, similar gatherings...

ETA: I liked this quote from one of the Pagans at the festival:
“It is not correct, moral or ethical to harass any individual in public or in private based on their individual or family beliefs,” Leafar said. He believes that this behavior comes from ignorance and a “contempt for our individual values.”
It's sad to note in the article that in previous years, the organizer of WitchFest had been able to get help from the police in moving the protesting Christians - who were a much smaller group in those times - to a location a bit further from their festival and making them turn off their amplification equipment (for which they needed a permit.) This year:
This year, the Christian groups were allowed to remain at the festival with their sound amplification. According to RavenHawk, the officers called the preaching “freedom of speech.” It is unclear whether the groups had permits.

One attendee, Soror Da Glorium Deo, said, “When the police had the opportunity to downgrade things by possibly escorting the troublemakers off the area, they chose not to de-escalate.”

...

“[The officers] treated us as if we were invading the Christians’ space, as if they had more rights than we do,” RavenHawk said. “[The preachers] were loud, and they were carrying on. Of course it was disruptive.”

When organizers moved the workshop tent away from the corner near the preachers, the Christian groups followed. “At a certain point, the protesters were not only in the surroundings and corners of the event with microphones and banners, but inside it,” said Leafar, whose class was canceled due to the preachers.
Absolute bullshit.

The story of the praying Bremerton coach keeps getting more surreal

When the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in June that Bremerton assistant football coach Joseph Kennedy had the right to pray on the field, it wasn’t widely understood then that the court had also ordered the school district to give him his job back.

He was given paid leave. He was never fired. He never returned his reinstatement papers. He's currently on a speaking tour around the country explaining to church groups how he was fired and they won't give him his job back.

Adolf wept.

I don't know if this question fits with "Behaving Badly" but I've wondered for a while, if Pence and trump do find themselves both in the running for 2024, what side will evangelicals take, their own Pence, or their new messiah trump?

They’ll hedge their bets and support both. They know that both men will do their bidding.

Actually my bet would be full-on tfg that way they cover both bases because while tfg is just using them Mikee is in for the duration and he would never punish their infidelity.

Ok, but when it comes to voting in the primary, do you think evangelicals will go with Pence or trump, assuming both are still on the ballot.

I believe most will go for tfg, they believe he is appointed by god or the second coming in some cases. The ones supporting Pence will be the exceptions.

For some of the pew types, he is their messiah. In the higher levels and the quieter Evangelicals, they will go for him because:

1. He goes after the left (they do love those that look like fighters)
2. He delivered them the SCOTUS they wanted (and the reversal of Roe v Wade)
3. He is more electable than Pence. Pence may actually be one of them but if you cannot get elected, you are no use to them.

You're doing it wrong.

@Kkdumez’s argument that evangelicalism is a culture rather than an set of beliefs has never looked stronger.

"It's sad that our kids need deliverance just from simply going to church. Indoctrination is at an all time high. Preacher's propaganda is at every turn. Teach your kids the truth. Stand your ground. Guard them against the evil and perversity that seeks to destroy them."

See? Easy to substitute a few words, Parson.
