Terrible. :(

I really think it's time for another United States senator to bring a snowball onto the floor of the Senate to prove that global warming is a hoax. That would really help right about now ...

At least now the boat owners can get some underwater boat hull maintenance done without having to pay the marina ludicrous sums to haul out and for the dry stand

Given the price of US fuel (low compared to most of the world),
they should be thinking of all that money they are saving by not being able to use their boat. :boxing:

In my working days I spent a lot of time in Baton Rouge where my employer has several large refineries and petrochemical plants.

Usually the problem with the river is that it is too high during the spring rains.

With little flow from the river salt water from the Gulf will erode more land south of New Orleans. Fortunately hurricane season is almost over. The last thing they need just now is storm surge.

U.S. warns western states it may impose Colorado River water cuts

https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us-war ... ce=twitter
The U.S. government warned on Friday that it may impose water supply cuts on California, Arizona and Nevada to protect the Colorado River and its two main reservoirs from overuse, drought and climate change.

The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation unveiled three possible action plans: one to impose cutbacks, another to allow western states to work out a reduction plan on their own, or a third and least likely option of taking no action.

Besides protecting drinking water supplies, the proposed federal action might also preserve hydroelectric production at the country's two largest reservoirs.

The bureau, part of the Department of Interior, had previously set a mid-August deadline for seven western states to negotiate their own reductions or possibly face mandatory cutbacks.

If the drought continues those downstream will be begging the Feds to take action so that they get at least a little water. ;)

It is either that or a war among the western states over water.

It looks to me like Maine, Rhode Island, and Delaware may be the only states untouched by abnormally dry or drought conditions.

The world’s largest dam removal will touch many lives in the Klamath River Basin

A $500 million plan to remove four dams owned by PacifiCorp will allow the Klamath River in Southern Oregon and Northern California to flow freely for hundreds of miles to the ocean, Aug. 24, 2022.

The four-dam teardown brings hope and uncertainty to residents in an area of Southern Oregon and Northern California where drought has made water a source of controversy.

Looking down at a pool filled with Klamath River salmon swimming back to their spawning grounds, Karuk Tribal Councilor Aaron “Troy” Hockaday says he can’t wait to see what the future holds for them.

“These fish right here give me hope,” he said. “They had a long journey from the mouth of the Klamath coming up here, so right now what they’re doing is resting a little bit.”

I'm all for dam removal. Sad about "waterfront property values," though. </sarcasm>

The U.S. is a drought/abnormally dry zone.
