There are your Democrats. I don’t see 50,000 boats in that flotilla.

Republicans excel at mindless, follow-the-leader bullshit.

Out at the ‘Desantis Boat Parade’ today, people are complaining about the price of gas.

Ron Desantis rips Greg Abbott for turning migrants at the border over to the Fed govt rather then sending them directly back to Mexico. He says if Abbott won’t do it, “I would send some people to (Texas) to help with that.”

DeSantis knows damn well that Governor Roller Nazi cannot legally just start tossing people back over the border. That's just pandering to the rubes.

In fairness, so is rounding up the migrants at the border and sending them to the Federal government. We've reached the point where Republican Governors are basically calling each other "whores!" before haggling over the price.

Desantis must be mad at Abbott cause migrants thanked Abbott for the paid bus journey north, they got an easier way to a trip south to FL from there

At least we can all agree that they're both whores.

Common ground is important.

In NY today, Ron Desantis says protesters in front of the Supreme Court building this morning are engaging in an insurrection, and “they seem to be able to get away with a lot more than if the shoe were on the other foot.”

I think he forgot about the First Amendment. And the rioters flew right by their First Amendment rights into insurrections on January 6.

Synagogue challenges Florida abortion law over religion

A new Florida law prohibiting abortion after 15 weeks with some exceptions violates religious freedom rights of Jews in addition to the state constitution’s privacy protections, a synagogue claims in a lawsuit.

The lawsuit filed by the Congregation L’Dor Va-Dor of Boynton Beach contends the law that takes effect July 1 violates Jewish teachings, which state abortion “is required if necessary to protect the health, mental or physical well-being of the woman” and for other reasons.

“As such, the act prohibits Jewish women from practicing their faith free of government intrusion and this violates their privacy rights and religious freedom,” says the lawsuit, filed Friday in Leon County Circuit Court.

The lawsuit adds that people who “do not share the religious views reflected in the act will suffer” and that it “threatens the Jewish people by imposing the laws of other religions upon Jews.”

The lawsuit is the second challenge to the 15-week abortion ban enacted earlier this year by the Legislature and signed into law by Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. Planned Parenthood and other reproductive health providers also sued earlier this month to block the law from taking effect.

Say what? :? :confuzzled:

When asked about Elon Musk’s tweet that he is “leaning toward” supporting Desantis for president in 2024, he responds: “I welcome support from African-Americans.”
Yeah, sure he's from south Africa, but Desantis is tone-deaf if he's tossing around that label. But, FloriDUH.

Calling Musk an African American has been an own-the-libs rallying cry for a while now; DeSantis knows what he is doing.

Just found out tonight from a former colleague that DeSantis is trying to push a reorganization on Florida's Regional Workforce Boards.

I was the sole data analyst of one of those boards for 10 years until I joined the Foreign Service. I still have friends there. They have always been the red-headed stepchild of government agencies in Florida and an easy target.

I have actual friends now who are in fear of their livelihood after *decades* of public service due to DeSantis wanting to continue punching down.

I have to think the odds are somewhat less that no matter how trashy Musky's behavior ever becomes, any DeSantis supporters would ever think of shouting at him "Go back to Africa!"

DeSantis reverses course, allowing Florida doctors to order COVID vaccines for young kids

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is now allowing healthcare providers — including pediatricians and children’s hospitals — to order COVID-19 vaccines from a federal program for children between six months and 5 years old, a reversal from earlier this week when providers were prevented from preordering doses, White House officials told McClatchy.

The decision will expand access to pediatric coronavirus vaccines for parents across the state, which, under DeSantis’ previous position, would have been limited to seeking vaccines at a select number of community health centers and facilities participating in a federal retail pharmacy program.

The DeSantis administration is pushing back aggressively against the notion that its position has changed, with a spokesperson from the Florida Department of Health telling McClatchy that it never planned on preventing private healthcare providers from ordering doses

But those private providers were unable to place orders before a Tuesday deadline from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to obtain initial doses over the first two weeks of availability. It could take up to two weeks for deliveries to arrive based on orders placed Friday.

He's not protecting anyone's freedumb anymore, he's actively trying to prevent anyone from taking any steps to not get COVID, save asking God to protect you.

That's just evil.

Ron DeSantis is spending $725 an hour to pay DC lawyers to defend his idiotic and unconstitutional culture war laws. One of the top lawyers from this DC firm used to be DeSantis’ roommate.
