Well one thing is for sure. These people have been liberated from having to act like they are decent human beings. We have an attorney in a court case that is being televised making openly racist statements with a straight face and no apparent shame. Now, we have men openly admitting their opinion that only men's lives matter. It's true there was a time when the status quo openly relegated women and minorities into the background. And so many white men (and sadly some white women and apparently even a smattering of minorities) are yearning for a return to those days.

My take on the women and minorities that yearn for those days. Reminds me of the early days when women were breaking into management positions and some of them believed and acted like the reason they were there was because they acted like men. They were the special women, different from other women and those other women didn't belong in management because they weren't like men. That was a transition period that thankfully didn't last as long as some hoped it would.

But, re this story, I have a former good friend, now crazy as shit trumper. A couple of months ago a close neighbor created a ring on Facebook Messenger for all the neighbors in our social circle so she could keep everyone informed on her husband's eventually terminal illness. It was used for health and doctor updates, then the bad news then wake and funeral information. It's been dormant since she returned from the funeral in Illinois.

Crazy trumper lady just used that same ring to advertise DeSantis' threat to send immigrants to Delaware followed by two muscle arm emojis.

Fucking assholes.

I feel your pain. Though my Foreign Service assignments will have me home only 4 to 6 weeks every 2 to 3 years at this point, "home" has been a little condo in Northwestern Broward County since 1996. And when Foreign Service colleagues joke with me about the Governor of Florida, I have to point out that it's not a joke to me, though I get why they feel it is.
