Between this and the cookware, it sure seems like Harris is getting the tan-suit treatment.

Kamala Harris was polite to visually impaired people and Republicans were Not Having It
The latest: The Republican National Committee is circulating an out-of-context video of Harris introducing herself at a roundtable event by saying, “I am Kamala Harris, my pronouns are she and her, and I am a woman sitting at the table wearing a blue suit.” As we know, Republicans do hate the idea that a person’s pronouns might not be immediately the most obvious thing about them, but about that “woman sitting at the table wearing a blue suit” part. The missing context is that Harris was at a roundtable on the overturn of Roe v. Wade as a disability rights issue, and she was describing herself for the benefit of visually impaired people at the event.
The RNC wants people talking about Harris having the temerity to introduce herself in a way that would be helpful to the people she was speaking to. Because Republicans want us to believe that a major problem in our government and our culture is the vice president taking an extra four seconds to give a brief description of herself to be respectful of people who cannot clearly see her.
They don’t want us talking about the substance of the event, which was held on the 32nd anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act and weeks after the Supreme Court allowed extreme abortion bans to go into effect in many states.
The “abortion restrictions that are being put in place around our country by extremist so-called leaders in various states will have a disproportionate impact on people with disabilities,” Harris noted in her opening remarks. “People with disabilities have higher rates of pregnancy complications, and, in fact, 11 times more likely to die before, during, and after childbirth. This is a fact.”
Do you mean this?busterbunker wrote: ↑Sat Aug 13, 2022 2:30 am Kamala Harris was in town today. Her first stop was promoting an education scam. More nefarious than charter schools. Don't believe what you read in the news.
The next stop involved commercial space. I was like great, we got plenty. Like where Smart & Final and CVS and Rite Aid closed down. We need some grocery stores. Turns out they were talking Space Force, apparently there's even more vacant commercial space in the sky.
Trust me, I have much the same problem on many stories about foreign affairs.busterbunker wrote: ↑Sat Aug 13, 2022 3:50 pmYep and that's an example of shoddy journalism. That piece has more holes than a slice of swiss cheese but I can't give details on a public forum, hope you understand.
The weather is beautiful. She'llmhave a relaxing time here.LIHU‘E — Air Force Two has touched down on the Garden Isle.
A week after casting the deciding vote on the landmark Inflation Reduction Act in the Senate, Vice President Kamala Harris arrived at Lihu‘e Airport Monday.
State Department of Transportation spokesperson Jai Cunningham confirmed the vice president’s arrival Monday and reported that the Kaua‘i Police Department had provided her with an escort.
Harris’ visit comes after a string of legislative achievements for the administration of President Joe Biden, most notably the Inflation Reduction Act, which passed the House Friday.
I, for one, do NOT understand.busterbunker wrote: ↑Sat Aug 13, 2022 3:50 pmYep and that's an example of shoddy journalism. That piece has more holes than a slice of swiss cheese but I can't give details on a public forum, hope you understand.
No, that is not my opinion.
I'm sorry that you may not believe me but that is, in fact, my situation.
I understand. But I simply can't discuss this on a public forum. Best I can say is that one often needs to look into these things more closely. I'm sorry if I offended you.
A motorcade taking Vice President Harris to work was in a one-car accident on a closed roadway in D.C. Monday morning, an incident that concerned both the Secret Service director and the vice president and revived worries about the agency’s history of concealing its mistakes, according to two people familiar with the incident.
The Secret Service agent driving Harris in a sport utility vehicle struck the curb of a downtown tunnel hard enough that the vehicle’s tire needed to be replaced, bringing the motorcade to a standstill near Foggy Bottom at about 10:20 a.m., said the people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to share internal discussions.
Harris had to be transferred to another vehicle in the motorcade so agents could safely spirit her to the White House. The routine nature of the travel and the high level of training required for agents who drive the president and vice president led many in the Secret Service, as well as Harris, to question how such an accident could happen.
The Secret Service also failed to note key details of the incident in an electronic message formally alerting senior leadership to the motorcade’s delay. The agency’s protective intelligence division reported that “a mechanical failure” in the lead car had forced agents to transfer Harris to another vehicle during a scheduled movement to the White House, according to details of the alert shared with The Washington Post.
